When They Beg I Rise (Lemira) novel Chapter 1061

Lemira caught sight of Evelina collapsed on the floor, a flicker of surprise crossing her eyes.

She hadn't even noticed how the other girl managed to end up on the ground.

Evelina's pathetic screams, however, instantly drew Evander's attention. He rushed over and helped her up. "Are you alright? How did you fall?"

Evelina's face was pale with feigned agony. She pointed a trembling finger at Lemira. "She... she pushed me on purpose."

Evander looked up at Lemira, his expression darkening with immediate displeasure. "Why would you do that?"

Hearing the all-too-familiar accusation, Lemira replied calmly, "I didn't push her. She ran over, yanked the door, and tripped over herself."

Evander noticed they were right outside Lemira's room. He turned to question Evelina, "Why did you even come up here? Didn't I tell you to stay in your room?"

"Evander, I just wanted to get some fresh air. When I saw Lemira was back, I wanted to say a few words to ease the tension between us. But I never expected her to just shove me to the floor."

Evelina leveled her tearful, wronged accusation at Lemira.

Evander's mood soured with frustration. "Butler, hurry up and bring the wheelchair. We need to get her to the hospital."

Evelina clung to Evander's hand. "Evander, this is our baby. No matter how much resentment Lemira has toward us, she shouldn't take it out on an innocent child."

Evander stood up and glared at Lemira. "Are you really not going to explain yourself?"

A mocking smile touched Lemira's lips. "What exactly do you want me to explain?"

Seeing this, Evelina quickly chimed in, "She won't explain because she has a guilty conscience."

By this time, the rest of the Langston family had gathered in the hallway.

Lucian spoke up first, his tone sharp. "Evander, what is wrong with you? Lemmy has no reason to do such a thing. Get your head straight."

Evander remained silent.

Evelina's eyes darted around. "But she did push me! She knows no one believes anything I say right now, which is why she did it on purpose. She hates you all so much, how could she not be capable of this?"

Evelina panicked. "Rowan, what did I do wrong? Please don't kick me out."

Why did he harbor such intense hostility toward her? She hadn't even done anything to him.

Rowan stared at Evelina, his gaze predatory and icy.

The rest of the words died in Evelina's throat.

"Because you are a murderer's daughter," Rowan stated coldly. "You don't deserve to stay with the Langstons."

Evander immediately protested, "Rowan—"

"If you say another word, you can get the hell out with her."

Rowan's tone remained flat, but it carried an unquestionable, commanding weight.

Asher frowned. "Regardless, we should at least wait until the baby is born. After all, it's the Langston heir."
