When I Flash-Married a Billionaire, My Ex Went on a Hunger Strike novel Chapter 65

Louis snapped, “Then why didn’t you call an ambulance or take her straight to the hospital?”

Though he scolded, his pace quickened.

Eugene explained, “She refused. I think it’s because she has HIV and doesn’t want to be judged at the hospital.”

Louis cursed, “She doesn’t have HIV!”

“She’s already having a flare-up!” Eugene raised his voice, clearly implying Louis was hiding something from him.

Louis was furious. “Idiot!”

He reached the car and leaned in.

The woman lying in the back seat was pale as a ghost, her lips drained of all color.

His expression darkened.

He first checked her pulse, then pressed lightly on her carotid artery, and finally pinched the philtrum.

“Adora? Adora!”

He used just enough force to jolt her back to consciousness.

Adora slowly opened her eyes, her mind still foggy.

Louis looked down at her. “What’s wrong? Where are you hurting?”

Adora glanced at him, her voice cold. “Mind your own business.”

Eugene just had to meddle.

She already told him she was fine, but he dragged her away anyway. And not only that, but he also brought this quack with him!

“You don’t get a say right now.” Louis’s expression remained stern.

As he spoke, he pulled out his phone to call the hospital.

Seeing what he was doing, Adora forced herself upright and said weakly, “I’m fine. It’s just cramps…”

“Cramps?” Louis had already started the call, but paused, staring at her with a mix of surprise and doubt.

“You’re like this just from cramps?”

Adora nodded, barely able to speak.

Since it was just menstrual cramps, that made things easier.

Louis told the person on the other end of the line it wasn’t serious and hung up.

Then he turned to Eugene. “Carry her back.”

“Uh… Uncle, I… there should be boundaries between men and women…” Eugene hesitated, clearly uncomfortable.

“Oh, now you care about boundaries? Then why did you bring her here in the first place?” Louis’s tone was sharp.

“But I couldn’t just leave her there… she passed out from the pain.”

No wonder her body was failing.

“Adora… Adora?” Louis called her name, frowning as she leaned motionless against his arm.

He gave her a gentle shake, but there was no response.

Once inside the apartment, he carried her straight to the bedroom and laid her on the bed.

Without wasting a second, he turned to his nephew. “Go get some painkillers, a heating pad, rubbing alcohol, cotton swabs, and a warm blanket.”

It was the middle of summer, yet Adora’s limbs were icy cold, and her forehead was damp with cold sweat.

They were clear signs of poor blood circulation, so heat therapy might help.

“Got it! I’ll go now!” Eugene answered quickly and rushed off.

Louis pulled a blanket over her for warmth.

Then, with both hands, he reached under the blanket, lifting her shirt and unzipping her pants.

But the moment his hand brushed her lower abdomen, Adora flinched and instinctively grabbed his wrist.

“I’m massaging the pressure points to ease the pain,” Louis said in a low voice.

She didn’t speak, but her grip loosened a little.

Louis began gently massaging specific pressure points on her lower abdomen—targeting areas just below the navel known to help ease severe cramps.
