Chapter 157
Gwyneth met her gaze without flinching. “Let’s see,” she said evenly.
Miranda got even angrier. “Fine. If you’re not afraid of your father, come with me to the Jenkins Group.”
Miranda knew Quentin had never approved of his daughter. Even at company headquarters, her cousin would surely back her, not the girl who’d run off chasing some man.
Confidence surged through Miranda as she tilted her chin up, throwing Gwyneth a look that screamed game on.
Gwyneth didn’t care at all. She nodded. “Miranda, don’t regret it when the time comes.”
“We’ll see,” Miranda sneered. “Who do you think Quentin will side with–his loyal cousin, or the lovesick fool who abandoned the family for some guy?”
The air between them crackled as their stares locked.

Miranda stormed into the Jenkins Group’s building with Gwyneth in tow, determined to confront Quentin.
In the office, Quentin was discussing some recently signed projects with Zachary.
The assistant barged in. “Mr. Jenkins, the head of the Mercer Group, Ms. Miranda Leblanc is making a scene in the lobby, demanding immediately. Security can’t calm her down.”
to see you
“Didn’t I hand the Mercer Group over to Gwyneth to run? What’s Miranda doing here?” Quentin frowned and glanced at Zachary. He didn’t want outsiders to see family drama between cousins.
But before he could continue, Miranda pushed past the security guards and assistants, crying and barging in. Without even seeing Zachary across from her, she hurled her designer handbag at Quentin.
“Quentin,” she wailed. “Your daughter is trying to destroy me. She fired my entire team–every single person I mentored. Now she wants to kick me
out too.
“And she gave everyone else their severance pay, but won’t give me mine… Quentin, your daughter wants to leave me homeless.” She cried and sobbed, and then sat down next to Quentin, hitting his shoulder.
Quentin winced as he dodged her blows–his aging body couldn’t handle their childhood roughhousing anymore. “Miranda, not now,” he hissed, glancing at Zachary. “Mr. Flynn is here.”
“Why wait?” Miranda dramatically wiped nonexistent tears. “Unless you fix this today, I’ll be sleeping in a cardboard box tonight!”
Quentin was at a loss for words.
Just then, Gwyneth walked in and noticed Zachary sitting opposite her.
Zachary saw Gwyneth and immediately stood up. “Gwyneth, the Mercer Group was your mother’s legacy, right?”
“Mr. Flynn, keep your nose out of the Jenkins Group’s business,” Gwyneth shot back coldly.
She marched over, dragged Miranda up by her expensive coat, and snapped, “With all the favoritism and embezzlement, you were rolling in cash.
“The only reason I’m not suing you for millions right now is because you’re my father’s cousin. But you know I could.”
Miranda’s eyes bulged. She couldn’t believe Gwyneth would air their dirty laundry in front of the client.
She had barged in because she heard Quentin had visitors. She knew he’d try to look good and not punish her hard. But Gwyneth showed her no
respect.
Quentin stood up suddenly. “Gwyneth, enough! Mr. Flynn and I are talking business. Your matter with Miranda can wait.”
“I don’t mind,” Zachary said, sitting down calmly while smiling at Gwyneth.
‘As long as it helps Gwyneth, it’s not a problem, Zachary thought.
Quentin was speechless.

Chapter 157
Miranda struggled like a cornered animal. “Those are fabricated!” she screeched, face burning crimson as she lunged for Gwyneth’s hair.
Gwyneth dodged the grab. Then she shoved Miranda hard onto the sofa and watched her scream wildly.
With a mere flick of her wrist, Gwyneth turned to Flora, who handed her the gathered evidence.
Gwyneth slammed all the documents onto Miranda. “Point to one single accusation that’s untrue.”
She then faced Quentin. “Father, she embezzled funds at the Mercer Group. It ran at a loss each year, costing the Jenkins Group millions. Shouldn’t we send her to jail?”
Quentin and Miranda froze instantly.
Quentin said quickly, “She’s your aunt. How could you jail your own aunt? If word gets out…”
“Gwyneth can’t jail her aunt, but as an outsider, I can help call the cops and press charges,” Zachary cut in suddenly.
Gwyneth’s eyes turned cold. ‘Why does he always butt in? I didn’t plan to jail Miranda. I just wanted her to return the stolen money,‘ she thought.
Miranda shot back, red–eyed, “Who are you? Some scrawny nobody sticking his nose in the Jenkins family’s business! Were you raised in a barn—”
