Whats She Overheard in Her Own Marriage novel Chapter 542

Chapter 543

Dexter was startled by the sudden question from the backseat. “I’d guess t’s highly likely because of Ms. Lawrence. Dr. Hayes has a flawless esume and would have had a very bright future with the national team. Sigh, Ms. Lawrence really is that charming.”

Finnian’s dark gaze turned somber. So Noelle really was casting a wide net, just waiting for the fish to bite.

What about Julian Kendrick?” Finnian thought of another man, one who used to be one of his best friends.

His mind flashed to the way Julian looked at Noelle-restrained, cautious, always stealing one more glance. A completely unhidden obsession.

On the day of Noelle’s wedding, aside from Finnian drinking himself into

he hospital, he heard Julian had collapsed in his own room and had been rushed to the ER too. Later, Finnian had noticed a scar on Julian’s

wrist. He never asked how it got there, but it was highly likely he had cut

his own wrist over Noelle.

Dexter replied softly, “Everyone could see how Mr. Kendrick felt about Ms.

_awrence.”

Finnian clenched his fists, his fingers trembling slightly. So Julian had willingly thrown himself into her net too?

Finnian scoffed internally. His own arrogance was nothing but a joke. He thought he had everything under control, but the truth was, he hadn’t even seen the true colors of the people right next to him.

He had to admit, Noelle’s tactics were brilliant. She barely seemed to do anything. She just looked at them with those innocent, pure eyes, spoke in that gentle, non-threatening tone, and used vulnerability and

stubbornness to trigger a man’s curiosity and protective instincts.

She didn’t have to lift a finger. They all turned themselves into willing fish

in her net

“Boss, Ms. Lawrence really is incredibly charming, but the way she acts, it’s like anyone could be her ‘one and only’,” Dexter remarked with a

chuckle.

The backseat fell dead silent. Finnian didrit respond. But maybe, starting now, he could finally see the real Noelle and stop being fooled by her fake

persona.

At that exact moment, Kaia slowly woke up, still leaning on the

conference table.

She shifted and realized a black coat was draped over her shoulders, carrying a faint, cool scent of lemon.

She paused.

Turning her head, she saw Silas sitting in the chair next to hers, reading a document. Seeing her awake, he looked up.

His dark eyes were deep and profound, like moonlight reflecting off a

lake.

‘You’re awake?” He set the document down.

Kaia sat up and pulled the coat off her shoulders to hand it back. “How long was I out? I just meant to close my eyes for a second, I didn’t expect to fall asleep.”
