Two Reborn, One Throne novel Chapter 184

Ever since Amber and Lucian's falling out, Vance had harbored a secret wish.

—To pursue Amber and get close to her.

Because of the intense final sprint for the Exam and Amber's hyper-focus on winning against Lucian, Vance had suppressed those feelings. But now, things were different.

Amber had made that bet with Lucian, ostensibly to push Vance to study harder and faster. But shifting his perspective, wasn't this the perfect opportunity to make a demand?

He wanted to take her on a date. Even if she turned him down, he didn't want any regrets after graduation, so he wanted her to promise him one wish.

If she agreed, he would study until he bled to get into Zenith University.

Amber narrowed her eyes. Vance's earlobes turned bright red. Normally, he would stutter and look away, but there were only ten days left until the Exam.

Ten days. If he hesitated now, he'd lose his chance forever.

"Sure, as long as it doesn't involve murder or breaking the law. I'll agree to ten wishes, let alone one."

Before Vance could even nod in joy, Amber added, "But if you fail..." Her eyes turned icy as she stared him down. "I'm blocking you everywhere. We'll cease to be friends, and we'll cease to be classmates for the rest of our lives."

Vance: "...Isn't that a little harsh?"

Amber smiled dangerously. "A woman's got to be ruthless to secure her crown. Vance, I'm completely serious. You have to get into Zenith. I know your ambitions go far beyond this. Believe in yourself, and believe in me."

In her past life, Vance had eventually built his own company, but before that, he had endured an inhuman amount of torment.

To save him from taking those painful detours, Amber had to enforce this strictly. Even if he complained about her now, he would definitely thank her later.

Zenith was his dream school. Later on, when he finally made money, he spent a fortune to take courses there. He used to drink with her and vent, saying that if he had possessed this level of determination during his high school years, he wouldn't have lost a finger.

He had said that if he could be reborn or start his life over, he would study relentlessly and crush everyone who ever mocked him—a sports student trying to work in computer science—under his heel.

Amber had already paved the way for Tillie's fate, and Tillie would walk it well, but Vance was someone she had to forcibly push forward.

Since Lucian didn't believe in him, she was going to prove him wrong.

She was going to take everything he deemed impossible and make it reality. Otherwise, he would just claim that even with her past life memories, securing her scholarship was a given.

Amber wanted to strip him of every single excuse.

—She wasn't just going to make him drown in regret; she was going to make him submit completely.

"Alright, Amber. I'm all in. Starting today, I will never tell myself I can't do it. I will say I can, and I must." Vance held out his pinky finger. "Amber, let's swear on it. Whoever breaks the promise is a coward."

Amber had told her that once she had enough power to fight back, there would be plenty of time to talk.

"Okay. Can I hug you then?"

Starting today, her joys, sorrows, and everything about Amber would vanish from her life.

If today was a farewell, let it be a proper one.

When they reunited, she would repay her for everything.

Amber hugged her tight, her eyes glistening. "Tillie, remember, no matter what you see online or hear from others, unless you get a message from the secure account I gave you, do not show your face. Just remember, your success is the only way you can do right by me."

"Amber..."

"We're only separating temporarily. Just push through this. Tillie, you're more mature than Vance, so you have to be even more determined. Do you understand?"

Tillie nodded. "I understand. No matter how rough the road gets, I'll pave it flat and come find you. Amber, good luck on the Exam."

See you at the top.
