But in the next split second, Juno suddenly spun around and aimed the rifle upward at an angle. As she moved, Morgan's men instantly flipped on the high-intensity floodlights, lighting up the entire warehouse as bright as day.
The men who had been secretly lying in ambush up in the rafters suddenly found themselves with nowhere to hide.
Juno fired a rapid barrage of shots, and the men above plummeted to the floor, one after another.
She casually tossed the gun aside, the heavy thud kicking up a cloud of dust as it hit the ground.
Miles suddenly realized what had just happened. There had been more enemies above them.
The men on the ground had only pretended to surrender; their true goal was to wipe Chuck's crew out entirely once they were gathered.
But the one thing they hadn't accounted for was Juno showing up.
The next twenty minutes were the longest twenty minutes the Yates family's men had ever experienced in their entire lives.
It was intensely, horrifically bloody.
After dealing with the assailants, Juno turned to look at Miles. "Leave one alive and send him back to Blackwood City. Clean up this mess. I'm heading back."
Miles and the rest of the men bowed their heads respectfully.
Juno stepped out of the warehouse. The sea breeze whipped wildly around her, blowing her long hair into her eyes.
If she wasn't going to return to Blackwood City, she would just drag the Yates family all the way to Kingsland.
...
Chuck could never figure it out. Why was it that every time Juno came to visit him, something inevitably came up?
She never even stayed for a full thirty minutes.
When Juno returned to the Corrington estate, she learned that Sebastian Corrington was coming back in the next couple of days.
Rhiannon was visibly ecstatic.
"Sebastian has been abroad for two years, and he's finally coming home!"
The smile on Rhiannon's face was impossible to hide. Sebastian had always doted on her since they were kids.
Once he was back, if Juno tried to bully her like she always did, she was going to pay for it.
Gwendolyn was dressed elegantly yet comfortably, giving off a warm, homey vibe. "It's not just Sebastian coming back. Shane Sherwood is returning with him."
As she spoke, Gwendolyn looked at Rhiannon with a teasing, knowing look.
Rhiannon looked a little shy and whined affectionately, "Mom!"
