The True Heiress: Legend Mode novel Chapter 118

She was doing everything in her power to cultivate Juno's potential.

While she didn't have Gordon Corrington's vast network, she was incredibly dedicated.

The meeting was set at the Tengo Hotel.

Before Juno and Mrs. Sherwood arrived, Ralph Wright literally bumped into Muse in the lobby.

Both of their respective magazines were named after them.

Ralph had been riding high for years, and his impeccably tailored suit made him look exceptionally sharp. He sneered at Muse. "Well, well, if it isn't Muse. Never expected to see you at a place like this."

Muse ignored him.

"I heard your new issue is dropping the same day as ours. I'd love to know where you found the nerve to pull a stunt like that."

Every word Ralph spoke was laced with venom.

Cornered, Muse was forced to reply. "Obviously, we aren't thriving quite like you, Mr. Wright."

Ralph gladly soaked up the forced compliment. "Since we're old friends, I'll do you a favor and tell you this: we've booked two of the hottest rising stars for our next cover. If you don't want to go completely bankrupt, I highly suggest you push back your release date."

Muse had zero interest in trading fake pleasantries with him. "I'll take it under consideration."

Ralph let out a booming laugh and walked out of the hotel, loudly remarking to Rhiannon beside him, "I honestly can't believe her pathetic little magazine has survived this long."

He spoke loudly enough for Muse to hear every word.

The thought of dissolving the magazine surfaced in her mind once again.

During lunch, Ralph's words played on an agonizing loop in her head, leaving her completely distracted.

The awkwardness hung heavy in the air. Mrs. Sherwood had to call her name two or three times.

Snapping back to reality, Muse apologized profusely. "I am so sorry, I'm just not myself today."

Juno leaned forward. "Is it because Ralph Wright has been crushing your spirit for over a decade? Are you debating whether to pull the plug on the magazine?"

Muse looked up, stunned.

She hadn't truly taken a good look at the Corrington family heiress until now.
