Bianca had honed her culinary skills entirely to accommodate Mathis. Everyone in the Jagger family loved the dishes she cooked, yet absolutely no one respected her. Every time she returned to the main estate for family dinners, they bossed her around like a common maid. Mathis had never once spoken up to defend her.
In the past, she had catered to their whims because she needed the Jagger family's money. Now that her mother was gone and she was seeking a divorce, she had absolutely no reason to kiss their feet anymore.
Bianca refused on instinct. "Mrs. Jagger, Mathis is fully cured, and I have no further obligation to take care of him. We are currently going through the divorce process, which means I am no longer the Jagger family's servant. Find someone else to order around."
Evita had explicitly forbidden Bianca from calling her 'Mom,' forcing her to use 'Mrs. Jagger' for the past three years. It used to hurt Bianca deeply, and she had shed many tears over it.
Mathis had only told her, "It's just a title. Why do you care so much?"
Now, Bianca thought it was perfectly fitting. She didn't have to call that wicked old witch 'Mom' anyway.
Evita sneered viciously. "Your mother just dropped dead and you're already abandoning my son. You really do treat yourself like an item up for sale."
Completely numb to Evita's venomous insults by now, Bianca simply replied, "Think whatever you want. From now on, I have absolutely nothing to do with you."
She hung up, blocked the number, and deleted the contact in one smooth motion. From this day forward, she and the Jagger family were total strangers.
The curtain was closing on this act, and she was sprinting toward a brand-new life!
Furious that she couldn't get through to Bianca, Evita called Mathis directly. She shrieked into the phone, "That Bianca is getting awfully bold! She actually blocked my number! Are you two getting a divorce? Good riddance. A girl with her background was never good enough for you anyway."
Mathis lowered his eyes and replied coolly, "That's not happening. I am not divorcing her. She’s just throwing a tantrum right now, she'll get over it in a few days."
He was so used to Bianca’s absolute submission that he couldn't fathom her actually going through with a reckless divorce. For three years, no matter how unreasonable his demands, she had always complied.
Evita scoffed. "Then tell her to get her ass back here and prepare for your grandmother's banquet."
