The moment the first warning howl echoed across the territory of the Black Howler Pack, every member knew exactly what it meant.
The attack had begun. The sound carried through the forest like a funeral bell, followed almost immediately by the deep blast of the warning horns stationed along every border.
“Feral rogues! Feral rogues at the eastern border!”
Another howl followed. Then another. Within seconds, the entire pack moved as one. There was no panic. No screaming.
Only disciplined urgency.
In just a few short days, Alpha King Talon and Luna Queen Diana had transformed the Black Howler Pack into a force ready for war. Every member, from the youngest pups to the oldest omegas, knew their role. When the warning horns sounded, no one hesitated. They moved exactly as they had been instructed, each step guided by the preparations their Alpha King and Luna Queen had put in place. The warriors rushed toward the borders without hesitation. The healers gathered their supplies and guided the injured who had already begun arriving from the outer patrols.
Head Omegas immediately organized the evacuation.
“Mothers, bring your pups!”
“Stay together!”
“Move to the nearest bunker!”
The entire pack grounds emptied with astonishing speed. Parents grabbed their children’s hands, carrying the younger pups in their arms while the older ones ran beside them. Some pups cried. Others looked frightened but remembered Luna Diana’s drills.
“Keep holding hands.”
“Don’t run away.”
“Listen to the Head Omegas.”
Those words echoed repeatedly through the frightened crowd. One tiny pup suddenly stumbled after losing hold of his mother’s hand. Before he could cry, a passing she–wolf immediately scooped him into her arms.
“I’ve got you.”
“We’ll find your mother after the battle.”
The little boy buried his face into her shoulder, silently praying.
Throughout the chaos, pack members helped one another without question. A father carried not only his

ewn daughter but another pup whose parents were already fighting at the border. An elderly omega held The hands of three frightened children white guiding them underground. No one asked whose child
belonged to whom.
At that moment… Every pup belonged to the entire pack. They only prayed to the Moon Goddess that once the battle ended… every child would once again find their parents. That every parent would return alive. That no family would be left broken before sunrise.
Within less than fifteen minutes… The pack grounds were nearly deserted. The laughter that normally filled the village had disappeared. Doors stood open. Cooking fires remained burning unattended. Training grounds were empty. Only warriors remained above ground.
Black Howler had transformed from a peaceful home… into a battlefield.
Outside the borders… The first wave crashed against Ravenna’s barrier. Hundreds… No… Thousands of feral rogues threw themselves at the invisible wall surrounding the territory.
The barrier shimmered brilliantly. Silver and white light rippled across the air as each feral wolf slammed into it. Some were thrown backward. Some burst into flames from the magical backlash. Others howled in agony before collapsing lifelessly onto the forest floor. The barrier held. Again… And again… And again.
From atop the watchtower, one warrior couldn’t help whispering,
“The White Witch…”
“She’s incredible.”
Another nodded.
“If we didn’t have this barrier…”
“They would’ve reached us already.”
Inside the pack…
Ravenna stood in the center of the defensive formation. Sweat already covered her forehead. The glowing runes beneath her feet pulsed continuously as she fed magic into the barrier. Her breathing gradually became heavier. Diana noticed immediately.
“Ravenna…”
“I’m fine.”
The White Witch smiled weakly.
“I expected this. But…”
She looked toward the forest.
“It won’t hold forever.”
Unlike every previous battle… Talon and Diana did not stand on the front line.
It was one of the hardest decisions either of them had ever made. Normally… The Alpha King and Luna Queen would be the first wolves charging into battle. Their presence alone inspired every warrior. But not

“Today… Enzo comrnanded the front lines. The Beta stood shoulder to shoulder with Gamma Galvin and
hundreds of elite warriors.
They formed an unbreakable wall between the feral rogues and their home.
Behind them… Several defensive layers waited. And at the very rear… Talon. Diana. Ánd Ravenna.
It wasn’t because Talon feared fighting. Nor because Diana wished to avoid danger. It was because they all understood one painful truth. Diana could no longer fight with her full strength.
Half of Artemis‘ power now belonged to protecting the twins growing inside her. And Talon… Talon refused to leave Diana’s side.
Not for a single heartbeat.
If Thorne truly came… He would come for Diana. Which meant Talon had to remain beside her. Always. The sounds of battle intensified. Metal clashed. Wolves howled. Trees cracked as enormous wolves slammed into them. Blood scented the wind.
Then came the first mind–link.
“Beta Enzo to Alpha King! First wave eliminated! More incoming!”
A second later… Another.
“Western flank needs reinforcements!”
“North wall holding!”
“Second wave approaching!”
The reports came endlessly. Every few minutes… Another warrior fell. Talon clenched his fists. As Alpha King… He felt it. Every death. Every warrior who lost his life defending their home. Each broken bond struck his heart like a knife.
Beside him… Diana winced. She felt them too.
“They’re dying…”
she whispered.
Talon silently took her hand.
“I know.”
Then… Ravenna suddenly gasped. Her eyes widened. The glowing runes beneath her feet flickered violently.
“No…”
She staggered backward.
“The barrier…”
