Chapter One Hundred Six
For a long moment after the white-clad female vanished, no one moved. The battlefield remained still- unnaturally so. Even the wind seemed to hesitate. Diana stood rooted in place, her grip tightening slightly around her katana. Inside her, Artemis paced restlessly.
“This is wrong,” Artemis murmured. “Everything about this is wrong.”
Diana didn’t answer. Because she agreed. Beside her, Talon finally exhaled slowly, though tension still coiled through every line of his body.
“We clean this up first,” he said, his voice steady, controlled.
Then his eyes shifted to Diana.
“And then we talk.”
Diana gave a single nod. No argument. Not this time. The Aftermath The next hour passed in controlled urgency. Bodies of the feral rogues were gathered and burned-no risks taken, no remains left that could be used for anything unnatural. Wounded warriors were escorted back to the pack hospital. Orders were given, checked, then given again. No one spoke about the white witch. But everyone felt it. Something had shifted. Once the battlefield was secured, Talon turned toward the pack grounds.
“We go to the bunker.” Diana fell into step beside him.
The Bunker
The heavy doors of the underground bunker opened the moment they approached.
Inside, the atmosphere was tense-but intact.
Pack members huddled together, anxious but safe. The moment Diana and Talon entered, a wave of relief rippled through the room.
Leah moved toward them immediately.
“Alpha. Luna.”
Her eyes scanned them quickly-checking for injuries.
“Report,” Talon said.
Leah straightened.
“No casualties inside the bunker.”
A breath of relief passed through Diana.
“Some minor injuries from the initial rush,” Leah continued, “but everyone is accounted for.”
Diana nodded slowly.
“Good.”

She stepped forward, her voice softening as she addressed the pack.
“You’re safe. The attack has been pushed back.”
Fear began to ease. Not completely-But enough. Talon placed a hand briefly on Diana’s back.
“We’ll increase patrols. No one leaves without clearance.”
“Yes, Alpha,” Leah said immediately.
Diana exchanged one last look with Leah- a silent understanding- before turning back toward Talon.
“Let’s go.”
Talon’s Office
The moment the doors to Talon’s office closed, the atmosphere shifted again. No more comforting presence. No more calm reassurance. Only truth. Inside the room stood: Talon. Diana. Enzo. Galvin. Silence lingered for a moment-
heavy. Then Talon spoke.
“We start from the beginning.”
His gaze moved between them.
“That was not a random attack.”
“No,” Diana agreed immediately. “It was targeted.”
“At you,” Enzo added, his tone tight.
Diana didn’t deny it.
Galvin crossed his arms.
“They didn’t care about losses. They just kept pushing toward you.”
“They were being driven,” Diana said quietly.
All eyes turned to her.
“She said it herself,” Diana continued. “They’re not multiplying on their own.”
A pause.
“They’re being created.”
Silence.
Enzo frowned.
“That doesn’t make sense.”
“It doesn’t need to make sense,” Diana said. “We’ve seen things that shouldn’t exist before.”

Her thoughts flickered briefly to Crimson Fang. To poison. To survival. To power that didn’t follow normal Tutes. Talon leaned forward slightly.
“Then let’s break it down.”
His voice sharpened.
“How do you create a feral rogue?”
Galvin spoke first.
“Lone wolves… isolation… trauma…”
He shrugged slightly.
“That’s how it usually happens.”
“Over time,” Enzo added. “Not overnight.”
Diana shook her head.
“That’s natural progression.”
“What we saw tonight wasn’t natural.”
A heavy silence followed.
Then Talon spoke again.
“Then someone is accelerating it.”
Enzo’s expression darkened.
“Or forcing it.”
That landed. Hard.
“Twisting them,” Diana said softly.
“Breaking them faster than they should. Turning them into weapons.”
Galvin let out a low breath.
“That’s not just power. That’s control. And intention,” Talon added.
Diana’s fingers tightened slightly.
“She said they want the Silver Wolf gone.”
The room went still. Enzo looked at her carefully.
“Do you think… it’s because of what you are?”
Diana met his gaze.
“Yes.” No hesitation. Artemis stirred within her.

They are afraid.”
Talon’s aura darkened.
“Then they should be”
Diana’s gaze shifted.
“To the second part.”
They all knew what she meant.
“A wolf is helping them,” she said. Silence again.
Then-Galvin spoke.
“You think it’s Rafe.”
The name settled heavily in the room. Enzo nodded slowly.
“It fits. He knows how to move unnoticed. He knows our systems. And he has motive.”
Diana’s jaw tightened.
“He already tried to kill me once.”
Talon’s eyes burned.
“And he failed.”
“But what if he didn’t stop?” Enzo pressed.
“What if he found someone to help him or someone he can use?”
Diana’s thoughts moved quickly.
“Vanessa.”
All eyes snapped to her.
“She brought in a new wolf,” Diana continued.
“Someone no one questioned. Someone placed directly into the pack hospital.”
Galvin’s expression darkened.
“A perfect place to hide.”
“And manipulate,” Enzo added.
Talon leaned back slightly, thinking.
“If that wolf is Rafe… Then he’s not just hiding. He’s positioning himself.”
Diana nodded.
