The Scorned Heiress: No More Mercy novel Chapter 765

She scrolls and scrolls, swiping for quite a while, but fails to uncover anything remotely interesting. It's just an endless wall of corporate announcements, promotional materials, and forwarded business articles. Work, work, and more work.

Is this guy a total workaholic?

"Wait a minute. Did that bastard give me his work account?" Bianca mutters, her face dropping.

"What's going on with you two? Why do I get the feeling you've crossed paths before?" Tara arches an eyebrow, noting her best friend's unusually intense interest in the new VP.

"We don't know each other. If we did, I wouldn't have been begging for his contact info," Bianca pouts in total defeat. "But honestly... I think he's pretty easy on the eyes. It's just his attitude that pisses me off. Ugh."

A thought suddenly crosses her mind, and she turns to Tara. "Wait, you added Coen, right? Let me see your phone."

"Sure."

Bianca snatches Tara's phone, pulls up Coen's profile, and instantly confirms her suspicions. That jerk absolutely gave her his corporate account! The profile picture alone is a dead giveaway. The account she added features an ultra-professional, stiff corporate headshot. Meanwhile, the account Tara added clearly has a casual, everyday photo as the avatar.

That man is insufferable! So petty he had to trick her twice just over a contact exchange.

"What's the deal? Do you two have a situation going on?" Tara asks, her gossip radar pinging.

"No situation yet, but that jerk just successfully triggered my desire to conquer him."

"Whatever you say, boss," Tara laughs, shaking her head. It's rare to see her friend so obsessed with a man, so she's more than happy to play wingwoman.

Bianca taps the contact card Tara forwards her and instantly shoots off a friend request. Then, she waits in gleeful anticipation for him to accept.

The two women order takeout, chatting and eating, but a long time passes with no response.

"There's no way he hasn't looked at his phone in this long. Is that bastard purposely ignoring my request?" Bianca pouts in sheer frustration. She looks so adorably annoyed that Tara thinks even she would fall for her if she were a man.

"What's the rush? He'll accept it eventually," Tara reassures her, thinking Bianca is getting entirely too worked up over this. It hasn't even been that long. He's new to the company, so it's perfectly normal for him to be caught up in familiarizing himself with the environment and missing a notification.
