The Scorned Heiress: No More Mercy novel Chapter 762

"Not entirely," Jake says, walking back to the sofa and sinking into the cushions. He taps his fingers against the armrest. "Going head-on obviously won't work. We need a strategy. What does she care about most right now? The business, right? The Dennis Group is the empire Grandpa and Dad built, and it's where she grew up. She can't possibly ignore it completely."

Alec and Nikolai exchange a look, mirroring each other's confusion.

"The business?" Alec presses. "But she's planning to bring in Bianca and other professionals to manage things. She hasn't even considered letting us help."

"Exactly. That's why we aren't going to interfere with her work. Instead..." Jake pauses, his gaze darkening with determination. "We're going to show her we've changed. Not with empty words, but with real action. Before, we were useless. We only cared about our own immediate interests and how much we could steal from her. Now, we have to slowly steer things back on track."

Looking back on it, everything was instigated by that scheming bitch, Jade. She just wanted to watch the actual siblings tear each other apart so she could reap the benefits.

"Steer things back on track?" Nikolai mutters. "How exactly?"

"Start with the little things at the company," Jake explains, his tone steady. "During board meetings in the past, didn't we always slack off and deliberately oppose her just to push our own agendas? From now on, whatever decision she makes, we back it one hundred percent. When she runs into a problem, we don't march in and tell her what to do. We quietly pull strings behind the scenes to provide the resources and help she needs, so she doesn't have anything to worry about."

"Of course, she can't know it's us doing it. At least, not right now," Jake adds as a final note.

The eldest daughter of the Blue family has a gentle and incredibly kind personality. Since she's so close with Tara, surely she'd be willing to help out once she hears that they genuinely regret their actions and want to make amends. After all, she wouldn't want to see her best friend's family stay shattered forever.

"She's close with Tara, not me. I can't ask her for favors. She won't even give me the time of day," Jake says, the reminder twisting like a knife in his gut. "On top of that, her family has already set her up on new blind dates. Word is, she's really happy with this new guy, and they've already started dating."

It stings. He spent so long trying to win his ex back, only for her to tell him she doesn't recycle trash. Now she has moved on with someone else, and his chances are officially dead.

"Tsk. Why are you acting like such a coward, Jake? As long as she isn't married, you still have a shot. You just need to be a little ruthless and steal her back!" Alec slams his hand on the table, immediately pitching terrible ideas.
