The Platonic Trap novel Chapter 76

Celia replied, "Honestly, there's no need to go to so much trouble. I can just text Ken later and he'll help me sort it out."

Alistair said absolutely nothing to that, simply turning on his heel and walking toward the exit.

Celia followed the towering man out of the hospital.

The five-star luxury hotel he had chosen was right next door, ensuring that if anything went wrong with her injuries, medical care was literally steps away.

Approaching the polished marble front desk, the receptionist barely glanced up at them. "Honeymoon suite or the fantasy room?"

Celia bit her lower lip, instantly dropping her gaze to the floor in embarrassed silence.

Alistair stepped forward, wordlessly sliding a heavy black card across the counter.

The receptionist caught a glimpse of the card and her entire demeanor snapped into panicked obsequiousness. "M-Mr. Zucker! Good evening, sir! Your Presidential Suite has already been prepped and is ready for immediate check-in!"

With trembling hands, she presented the room keycards.

Taking them, Alistair immediately handed one over to Celia.

"If you need absolutely anything, just call down to the front desk. They will handle it."

"Okay."

"Get some rest."

Celia gently tugged at the fabric of his sleeve. "Uncle Alistair... do you think I'll ever get my bag back?"

Alistair looked down at her. "Did you have something extremely valuable in it?"

Celia nodded with intense seriousness.

Alistair briefly checked his phone. "It will be returned to you tomorrow. Don't worry."

Hearing his promise, a radiant smile finally broke across her face. "Okay! Thank you!"

Having settled all the logistics, Alistair's gaze lingered on her heavily bandaged arm. "Give me your number."

The girl blinked, clearly confused by the sudden request, but obediently recited her cell number anyway.

Alistair tapped the digits into his own device. A second later, Celia's dead phone miraculously sprang to life, ringing loudly from the fresh charge she'd gotten in the alley.

"This is my private line," Alistair said, hanging up the call and looking directly into her eyes. "From now on, if you need anything, call me directly."
