"Please, continue," Alistair said, his tone utterly composed, letting Celia keep her grip on his shirt. "I won't interfere."

"Mr. Zucker," the therapist laughed awkwardly. "With you here, there are certain professional matters that are difficult to probe into."

It was a blatant attempt to get him to leave.

Alistair didn't say a word; he simply registered the tight grip on his clothes.

"I will maintain strict confidentiality," Alistair replied. "She needs me."

He had only stated it as a logical, objective fact based on Celia's current state.

But the moment the words left his mouth, he realized it sounded slightly... inappropriate.

He cast a subtle glance at the young woman beside him. Seeing no change in her expression, he smoothly looked away.

"Ahem, well then, Ms. Stafford," the woman forced a painfully awkward smile. "Whatever you need to confide, you can tell me. I'll help you face it."

A faint smile danced on Celia's lips.

She slowly looked up, first inching just a little closer to the man beside her before speaking in a timid, fragile voice. "I really... I don't know..."

"I swear I remember fighting him for the steering wheel. I have no idea why my fingerprints aren't on it..."

As if recounting a fresh nightmare, large tears began to spill down her cheeks. "Maybe... maybe I'm remembering it wrong. I just don't know anymore..."

"Ms. Stafford, what are you—what are you saying!?" The woman opposite them shot to her feet, staring at her in sheer panic and yelling at the top of her lungs!

From the very first sentence out of Celia's mouth, Alistair knew something was wrong.

As he listened to her account, his eyes darkened, his expression turning ice-cold.

"I'm so sorry, I really don't remember..." Celia cried, her fingers tightening their death grip on his shirt. "He was driving so fast, and we hit the guardrail, and then we were in the water. My mind just went completely blank. I honestly don't remember what happened..."
