The Platonic Trap novel Chapter 50

His sharp gaze swept across the crowded rows of seats.

Raising his hand slightly, Alistair locked eyes with Celia. "You."

Celia blinked in total bewilderment, her almond eyes wide and entirely innocent. She hadn't even raised her hand!

Bathed in the jealous, burning stares of thousands of people, Celia slowly stood up.

Alistair's expression remained perfectly stoic, his gaze utterly devoid of any readable emotion. "What is your question?"

"Um..." Celia hesitated for a split second before asking softly, "Mr. Zucker, could you leak which stock I should buy tomorrow? I'd like to make a quick fortune."

Standing on the sidelines, Ken completely lost his composure and burst out laughing.

The auditorium erupted in a collective gasp before dissolving into roaring, good-natured laughter.

A flicker of amusement danced in Alistair's eyes, the corners of his lips curling into an almost imperceptible smirk. "Apologies. That classifies as insider trading. I cannot disclose that."

The students and faculty laughed even harder, the atmosphere instantly turning light and electric.

Regaining his usual icy composure, Alistair stepped out from behind the heavy wooden podium, putting his towering, flawlessly proportioned physique on full display.

"This is my ward, Celia."

Standing on the elevated stage, looking like an untouchable, emotionless deity who had descended from the heavens, he pointed directly at her. His tone was definitive, his gaze unshakable.

The laughter in the room instantly evaporated, replaced by thousands of jaws dropping in sheer, unadulterated shock!

"What!? What did he just say!?"

"Did he say Celia is his ward!?"

"Holy shit! The Staffords are wealthy, sure, but to be under the personal protection of the Zuckers!? That's an entirely different universe!"

"No way! Alistair Zucker is Celia's guardian!?"

The crowd spiraled into absolute hysteria.

Celia remained standing, frozen in place.

She was genuinely baffled. Why would Alistair publicly announce his direct backing of her in front of thousands of people?
