Just like with the driver who had rear-ended her, and just like with Zoe right now.
"Don't play cute with me! If you're blind, go see a doctor. You're sitting in Mr. Zucker's seat!"
Zoe hissed at Celia through gritted teeth, "Don't think I don't know exactly what you're trying to pull!"
Celia chuckled softly, tilting her head. "Oh? And what exactly am I trying to pull?"
Zoe sneered, her eyes raking over Celia with unfiltered disgust.
"I was your age once, little girl. Let me give you some free advice. Stop fantasizing about marrying into royalty and turning into a swan overnight," Zoe sneered viciously. "I've seen a million girls exactly like you."
"You think spreading your legs and whimpering a little will make a billionaire lose his mind over you? You're way out of your league!"
Celia scoffed. Her gaze bypassed the furious woman entirely, landing on the person jogging toward them.
"Ken."
Having finished coordinating the technical checks, Ken rushed over to check on Celia.
Hearing her call his name, he practically sprinted the last few steps.
Zoe, hearing the girl casually summon "Ken," froze in place. Her neck snapped awkwardly to the side to stare at the approaching figure.
Ken's expression was a picture of absolute reverence as he stopped beside Celia.
Crouching slightly to be at eye level with her, Ken asked softly, "Ms. Stafford, is there anything I can help you with?"
"K-Ken, sir, you..."
Zoe's eyes practically bulged out of her skull, her voice cracking hysterically.
Glancing briefly at Zoe, Ken offered a stiff, polite nod. "Ms. Zoe. A pleasure."
One of the Zucker Corporation's subsidiaries had collaborated with Zoe's division in the past. Blessed with a photographic memory, Ken instantly recognized her.
Realizing that the billionaire's right-hand man actually knew her name, Zoe felt a brief surge of joy before an unnatural, terrified smile stretched across her face. "H-Hello, Ken."
Without wasting another second on Zoe, Ken turned all his attention back to Celia. "Ms. Stafford, did you need something?"
Celia's smile was soft and meltingly sweet. "When is Uncle Alistair coming out?"
"Any second now. He is just doing a final mic check. Two minutes, tops."
"Okay."
"If you need absolutely anything else, just call for me."
