The Platonic Trap novel Chapter 45

Celia had literally been brainstorming excuses to get Alistair to attend her graduation performance.

Since the opportunity had practically gift-wrapped itself, she was absolutely going to seize it!

Looking at Ken, her eyes sparkled brightly. "Can he really? Wouldn't that be too much of an inconvenience for him?"

Ken frantically waved his hands. "Not at all, not at all! Mr. Zucker has cleared most of his backlog since returning from abroad. His schedule is much more flexible now."

Celia nodded eagerly. "If he could come to my performance, that would be amazing!"

"I'll head back and finalize his itinerary. You just focus on preparing for your showcase, Ms. Stafford."

"Alright, thank you for the hard work, Ken!"

She had already submitted her choreography for the final project. The grading system involved a panel of university instructors jointly evaluating the performances.

Receiving a 'Good' or 'Excellent' rating was entirely up to the consensus of the faculty panel.

After seeing Ken out, Celia pulled out her phone and logged into the Capital University forum.

The scandal involving Evelyn Morgan plagiarizing her paper had blown up massively, especially since the police had gotten involved.

Even though the university had officially announced the truth and penalized Evelyn, a flood of "conspiracy theory" posts still dominated the boards.

[Wait, are you seriously telling me that Evelyn, a straight-A student since freshman year, cheated?]

[As expected of a billionaire heiress. Throw enough money at the problem and the school administration will gladly shut up!]

[Poor Evelyn. Her family is already struggling, and now she's forced to take the fall for the heiress. Talk about kicking someone while they're down...]

...

Normally, these baseless rumors wouldn't have gained much traction, but Evelyn had intentionally 'liked' the very last comment.

In an instant, the student body's stance shifted to something far more ambiguous.

[Holy crap! Evelyn liked this post!]

[I knew there was a hidden agenda! Why would a perfect student like Evelyn ever stoop to plagiarism?]

[That's the power of the Stafford family's bank accounts for you!]

The debates escalated wildly, only superficially dying down when the forum admins stepped in to delete the inflammatory threads.
