The Platonic Trap novel Chapter 30

Watching Celia walk away, Ken stood outside the car, awkwardly scratching his head.

Getting into the driver's seat, he glanced at the man in the back through the rearview mirror. "Mr. Zucker, are we heading back to the West End estate?"

Alistair seemed slightly distracted.

He closed his eyes briefly, and when he opened them again a moment later, his gaze was sharp and calm once more. "Mhm."

--

Once back in her own car, Celia wiped away the fake moisture at the corners of her eyes.

Toying with the exquisitely packaged coffee in her hands, her lips curved upward.

Now it all depended on Evelyn's performance.

She truly hoped Evelyn wouldn't let her down.

...

For the next few days, Celia didn't contact Alistair at all, nor did she send a single message to Ken.

During that time, Ken sent several texts profusely apologizing for making her wait that night. Celia saw every single one of them, but deliberately left them on read.

—She needed to send Alistair a very clear message: she was furious.

With her dance graduation project rehearsals mostly wrapped up, Celia submitted her choreography and waited for the faculty's final grading.

She waited for about three days.

Finally, on the fourth day, the university administration contacted her: [Dear Celia Stafford, it has come to our attention that your finance thesis has an extremely high degree of overlap with Evelyn Morgan’s paper. Please report to the university administration immediately for an investigation.]

Hook, line, and sinker.

A triumphant smirk flashed across Celia's eyes.
