The Platonic Trap novel Chapter 3

Alistair was already seated in the back.

"Thank you." Celia thanked him softly and slipped into the vehicle.-

The engine hummed to life, and the car merged smoothly into the dark night.

Inside, Celia kept her head lowered, maintaining a polite distance from the man beside her. Her eyes darted around thoughtfully. Tears still clung to her lashes, but she narrowed her eyes slightly, clearly deep in calculation.

A month ago, she had started having a recurring nightmare. In the dream, a voice told her she was a fake heiress who had been switched at birth. Her fiancé would fall in love at first sight with the real heiress—a poor, hardworking student. After overcoming numerous obstacles, the two would get their happily ever after. Later, her fiancé would expose Celia's true identity, team up with the real heiress, and have Celia committed to a psychiatric ward, where she would ultimately end her own life by slitting her wrists.

At first, Celia didn't believe in such mystical, prophetic dreams. But when she found out that Talbot Forrester was indeed getting suspiciously close to a financially struggling student, her guard went up.

And when she secretly obtained a DNA test, the results entirely shattered her denial. She really wasn't a biological Stafford.

So, Talbot—her fiancé—really was going to expose her identity for the sake of the real heiress, and he was going to throw her into a psych ward?! And her ultimate fate was to die a miserable death in a mental asylum?!

For twenty-two years, Celia had lived a life of smooth sailing, endless wealth, and absolute pampering. There was no way in hell she was going to give up her luxurious life to make way for Talbot and that girl. And she certainly wasn't going to sit around waiting to be forced into suicide!

If there was one person in the entire Capital who could strike fear into both the Stafford and Forrester families, it was the man sitting next to her—Alistair Zucker.

She wanted her wealth, and she wanted her life.

And to keep them, she wanted Alistair.
