—She didn't quite understand why, but her grandfather truly valued Talbot and desperately wanted them to get married.
She wasn't going to marry an idiot like Talbot just to please her grandfather, but until she cut ties, she could use him to keep the old man happy.
That was pretty much the only value Talbot had left to her.
Looking at the hunched, gray-haired man beside her, Celia smiled brightly. "Then you have to stick around and take good care of yourself, Grandpa. When I get married, I want you to walk me down the aisle."
"Oh, listen to you! Expecting these old bones to walk you down the aisle!"
The grandfather and granddaughter laughed and joked, while Alfred watched from the side, a relieved smile on his face.
As the sun began to set, Sheridan grew tired from all the talking.
Celia stood up and had Alfred wheel her grandfather back to his room to rest.
Returning to her bedroom on the second floor, Celia noticed a message from her university professor.
She was currently a senior. Because she was pursuing a dual degree in finance and dance, she had to prepare two final theses, which meant double the workload.
Her professor informed her that her finance thesis had been selected as an outstanding paper, asking her to come to campus over the next couple of days to refine a few details.
Celia had no intention of hovering around Alistair 24/7. Not only would that yield zero progress, but it would likely backfire completely.
Since she had some free time over the next few days, she decided to head to Capital University tomorrow.
--
Early the next morning, Celia picked out a different car from the garage and drove to Capital University.
In his office, her professor couldn't stop praising her thesis. Whether it was the data calculations or the theoretical forecasts, Celia's work was absolutely flawless.
