"Is there something else you wanted to tell me, Ken?" Larry's tone was condescending.
He had just been "flirting" with Celia, and his mind was completely clouded by lust.
Ken looked up, glancing at the man behind the desk again.
He took a few steps forward so Alistair could hear more clearly.
The man's face was an icy mask, his thin lips pressed into a hard line, completely silent.
"Mr. Lambert, may I ask what exactly you are trying to do?" Ken inquired.
To Larry, this sounded like Ken was out of options and begging for mercy.
"What do I want? Didn't your little girlfriend tell you?"
Ken's heart trembled. He instinctively checked the man's expression.
—Larry might have a death wish, but Ken certainly wanted to live.
Alistair said nothing.
His elegant knuckles rested on the desk. Ken could see the faint blue veins bulging on the back of his hand.
This was bad.
"Larry, watch your mouth," Ken warned one last time out of sheer humanity. "If there's something you want, we can talk about it openly."
Larry clearly missed the hint and had no intention of holding back.
With a cold sneer, his voice was high-pitched and vulgar. "What could I want? I just want your woman to keep me company for a bit!"
"Tell you what, Ken, let's make a deal. Lend Celia to me for a couple of days, and I'll give her back when I've had my fun!"
"Given how she looks, I bet she's not a virgin anyway. I'll take the hit, have a little fun, and give her back!"
"Hahaha, as long as you agree, I promise I'll take the secret of those photos to my grave. Mr. Zucker will never know."
"Think about it, alright?"
Quiet.
Dead quiet.
Ken was too terrified to speak.
Just standing there, he could feel the air pressure in the room plummeting drastically.
The fountain pen Alistair habitually held between his fingers was now clamped tightly between his thumb and index finger.
