Ken froze, his brain completely failing to process the request for a second.
"Huh?"
Ken knew that Mr. Zucker had a strict fitness routine.
He hit the gym five times a week, but always after work or during his free time.
It was never something that needed to be officially factored into his daily schedule.
"Understood, Mr. Zucker. I'll arrange it right away."
Even though he was thoroughly confused, Ken dutifully adjusted the itinerary.
"Mr. Zucker, since you didn't return to the East Side estate last night, did you stay at the Aerie Manor?" Ken asked carefully.
Alistair gave a brief sound of affirmation and said flatly, "She's sick. She needs someone to keep an eye on her."
Ken let out an "Oh" and nodded.
—Even though he personally thought the staff at the manor were more than capable of taking care of her, he couldn't understand why Mr. Zucker had to go there himself.
It was probably because Mr. Zucker had promised Sheridan to take good care of Ms. Stafford, so he was just being extra attentive, right?
Having confirmed the details, Ken turned to leave.
But before he could reach the door, a cold, low voice echoed behind him.
"Am I old?"
*Clack.*
The expensive fountain pen slipped from Ken's fingers and hit the floor.
He stopped dead in his tracks, turning around in absolute horror to stare at the man. "M-Mr. Zucker? What did you say?"
Behind Alistair was a wall of floor-to-ceiling glass.
Looking past the door, Alistair was staring at his own faint reflection in the glass.
"Do I look old?" Alistair asked again.
Looking like he had just seen a ghost, Ken scrambled to answer. "Of course not, Mr. Zucker! Not only do you not look old, but you aren't old to begin with!"
Hearing this, Alistair pressed his lips into a thin line and dropped the subject. "Never mind. You can go."
"Yes, Mr. Zucker."
Ken practically fled the CEO's office in terror.
