After the ceremony at the Triune Temple, the whole family returned to the Gilmore Estate in the WestEnd for a meal.

Judith Gilmore was overjoyed, visibly looking years younger over the past few days. The elderly woman held Lavinia's hand wherever she went, walking and talking with a renewed vigor.

Usually, her old friends would invite her to private clubs to listen to Opera, and she would drag Maeve along. Now, she proudly and politely declined, raising her voice to brag, "My biological granddaughter is back; I don't have time to hang out with you." She'd add, "When are you bringing gifts to see my granddaughter? She's absolutely stunning."

After dinner, Judith gathered her grandchildren to discuss the schedule for the upcoming ceremony. Garnett Harper refused to leave, and Charley Sheffield was also there.

Charley glanced at him. "Mr. Harper, how does it feel to be the ex-husband?"

Garnett's fingers curled into a tight fist. Gritting his teeth, he hissed, "You're proud of destroying someone else's marriage? Do your parents know what a scumbag you are?"

"My parents came to me in a dream last night to tell me I did a great job. Mr. Harper, didn't your ancestors visit you in your sleep to warn you against being such a massive jerk?"

"Have you looked in the mirror lately? You fake local, destroying someone's family with such self-righteousness. You don't even know the meaning of basic decency, do you?"
