Lavinia leaned against the headboard scrolling through her phone. Jocelyn came out of the bathroom after taking a shower, rubbing her hair as she asked: "What did Garnett say to you? You look a bit unsettled."
Lavinia froze for a moment and said lightly: "Just a bunch of nonsense, not worth mentioning."
Jocelyn dried her hair, sat on the edge of the bed, and looked at Lavinia: "You attract a lot of romantic attention. Have you ever had anyone read your fortune to see when your true love will appear?"
Lavinia smiled: "Jocelyn, you believe in that stuff?"
"Why not? I had a psychic look at mine." Jocelyn said, "The psychic said my true love wouldn't appear until I was twenty-eight, and I still have to wait in line."
Lavinia's heart sank, "What about Saul?"
Jocelyn smiled: "Saul is just for practice. I can tell he's not very invested either, so we're just practicing with each other."
"Ah?" Lavinia was a little disappointed, "I really wanted you to be family."
Jocelyn rolled her eyes: "In your dreams. You have Charley, and you still want someone as awesome as me to be family, wouldn't your luck be too good?"
Lavinia smiled sheepishly.
Jocelyn said seriously: "I don't know what Garnett said to you, but I do know that men have very strong egos. A large part of his motivation is probably just that he doesn't want to lose."
Lavinia murmured: "I know. No one understands him better than I do."
Jocelyn smiled: "And here I was worried you might do something foolish. I can't guarantee anything else, but choosing Charley is definitely the right move. It's a pity he's not interested in me, otherwise, I'd willingly go change my destiny for him."
Lavinia got anxious: "No way! You and Saul..."
Before she could finish, Saul's voice came from the direction of the balcony: "Lavinia, Jocelyn, you guys aren't asleep yet, right?"
The two women smiled at each other and walked to the balcony in their slippers.
Charley and Saul lived right next door to them, and the balconies of the two rooms were connected.
Just from this, one could tell Jimmie was very good at arranging things; he totally deserved to drive a Bentley.
Saul held a large handful of sparklers in his hand, and Charley stood behind him with one hand in his pocket.
