The Man Who Never Looked Away novel Chapter 182

Suddenly, Sigrid flipped to a specific document and her gaze locked onto it.

It was a set of design files for a jewelry display cabinet, complete with 3D-rendered mockups.

The designs showcased matching sets of richly hued emerald bracelets, rings, and necklaces; assorted brooches featuring emeralds, sapphires, and jade; and dazzling displays of top-tier colored gemstones ranging from pigeon's blood rubies to Padparadscha sapphires and opals, many well over tens of carats.

"Corinne, what is this?" Sigrid asked.

Standing there, Corinne caught the subtle shift in Sigrid's expression and could practically see the green-eyed jealousy radiating from her.

"Sigrid, I'll tell you, but please don't get mad," Corinne stammered.

"What are you talking about? We're good friends. Why would I get mad at you?" Sigrid offered a sweet smile.

"A while back, Judith and Zenia got into a fight," Corinne explained. "Mr. Harper took Judith's side and retrieved all her jewelry from Zenia. Judith said she wanted to give all these pieces to Mrs. Harper, so Mr. Harper commissioned someone to design a set of high-end, climate-controlled preservation cabinets. Once they're built, the jewelry will be moved from the family estate to the Arden Estate for Mrs. Harper to use."

Sigrid's fingernails dug into her palms. Why did Judith like that naive little girl so much? What on earth made her worthy of Garnett?

Garnett had explicitly promised he wouldn't make her wait much longer for an answer. She thought he was finally on the verge of filing for divorce.

But now, he was custom-building a jewelry cabinet for that little girl—and moving tens of millions worth of heirloom jewels into it.

Was he really considering a divorce at all?

Corinne just smiled and listened without saying a word.

Sigrid glanced down at the insulated thermos. "I spent hours simmering this soup. It would be a waste to throw it out. Corinne, why don't you have it?"

"Thank you, Sigrid! I'll share it with the rest of the office. Everyone will be so grateful," Corinne chimed sweetly. When dealing with the potential future boss's wife, flattery was key.

Sigrid finally turned and left. Watching her retreating back, Corinne breathed a massive sigh of relief.

She immediately called in a junior clerk. "From now on, file away every single document on my desk immediately. Do not leave a single scrap of paper lying around."

The young clerk blinked, fully understanding the assignment. "Got it, Corinne."
