The Man Who Never Looked Away novel Chapter 129

A black Bentley pulled up outside the gates of an industrial park in the development zone. The door opened, and a perfectly polished leather shoe stepped onto the rough pavement.

Garnett stepped out of the car, casually buttoning his suit jacket as he glanced up at the stainless steel plaque by the entrance:

*Joplin Adhesives Corp.*

This was Garnett's first time visiting Saul's company. If it weren't for the fact that he was trying to track down Lavinia, he likely would have gone his entire life without setting foot in a factory like this.

The industrial park wasn't massive, but it wasn't small either. The main gates were wide open, but the moment Garnett tried to walk through, a security guard stepped in his way.

"Who are you looking for?" the guard asked.

"Your boss," Garnett replied dismissively.

"Do you have an appointment?"

"Do I need an appointment to see my cousin-in-law? Tell him Lavinia's husband is here."

Garnett was rapidly losing patience. While the guard made a phone call, Garnett pulled out a cigarette and lit it.

After speaking with Saul's assistant, the guard turned back to him. "Sir, you can go in."

Garnett took a drag and started walking, but the guard immediately blocked him again, shoving an ashtray under his nose. "Strictly no smoking on the premises. This is an adhesives plant."

Garnett shot him a withering glare, stubbed out the cigarette, and walked inside.

Saul's assistant, Casey, was waiting downstairs and escorted him up to the top floor.

Inside the chairman's office, Saul was frowning at a desk buried under piles of paperwork.

Hearing footsteps, he looked up. His eyes locked onto his visitor, and he let out a derisive scoff.

"To what do I owe the honor of the great Mr. Harper's presence? My little factory isn't grand enough to host a deity like you."

In all fairness, Garnett knew Saul was exceptionally capable compared to most of the new-generation industrialists.

Saul took a sip of his tea and replied flatly, "I don't know. I've been drowning in work lately and haven't called her. Isn't she living with you?"

Judging by Saul's attitude, Garnett knew instantly that he knew exactly where Lavinia was. He just wasn't talking.

"Saul, she's my wife. If we're having marital issues, we should resolve them ourselves. She's not a child."

Saul glared straight into Garnett's eyes. "No, she's not a child. She's a woman. She has a heart, she has feelings, and she gets hurt. You know exactly how you've treated her."

"How have I treated her?"

A flash of anger ignited in Garnett's eyes.

"She doesn't have to lift a finger. She gets to sit at home and enjoy a life of absolute luxury. My grandmother is packaging all her personal assets into a trust for her to inherit, and I've already promised to give her shares in the corporation once she gives birth. Is there a single wife in Blossom City who has it better than she does?"

Saul's temples throbbed violently.

He had seen Garnett openly parading around with Sigrid Sloan, yet here this cheating bastard was, acting entirely righteous. If they hadn't been in a professional setting, Saul would have thrown a punch.
