Nikolai and Rhaziel proceeded side by side to the throne room, which was crowded with officials as well as Devin, who was standing next to the throne, Albert, and Yakim. Nikolai had his eyes on Alexander, who had his locked on him.

Tension pervaded the air.

“This is for wolves only, Nikolai. That demon shouldn’t be here.” Albert said

with calm.

“I am the only demon lycan in existence. Does this mean I should leave?” Without even glancing at his uncle, Nikolai asked plainly.

“You are going to be Alpha, but not until I pass away will you rule over Celestia.” Alexander spoke up in a hard tone.

Nikolai cocked his head, with a smile. “Shall we make that a reality?”

Murmurs filled the room and Alexander heaved a sigh. “Today is the full moon festival, push the dislike you have for me until you get crowned.”

“Oh? But I don’t dislike you father,” Nikolai drewled then sighed. “I hate you.”

Alexander swallowed and frowned. “Is that significant?”

“You should be scared.” Nikolai whispered, his fangs elongating.

Alexander tsked. “Are you planning to make the demon your beta? I won’t let that happen.”

“Well, a dragon is my mate and she’s going to be my wife and the Luna of Celestia, so yes, the demon is going to be my Beta.” Nikolai responded, his tone as flat as usual but it was impossible to miss the gravity of his words.

“What has happened to you?!” Alexander yelled.

“What has happened to you?!” Nikolai roared. “Why do you offer me the title

of Alpha when you already know that you will die at my hands?”

“You two will never be able to hold a typical conversation.” Rhaziel mumbled and shook his head.

No one disagreed with him because he was speaking the truth.

Alexander got up from his chair, but as soon as he moved forward, dark wisps erupted from Nikolai’s body, launching Alexander back to his throne

“Nikolai!” Devin yelled out.

“You bastard!” Alexander growled through his teeth before sitting back comfortably on his throne.

Nikolai froze. “What?” This was the first time his father had called him that

word “bastard.”

“Leave.” The officials all muttered in response to Albert’s sigh, and they all left the room right away.

“Nikolai.” Rhaziel said in a whisper in an attempt to calm Nikolai down, but Nikolai shot him a glare with his thick demon-like eyes. His emotions were out of control. This was bad.

“Don’t get involved.” Nikolai growled.

“Calm down.” Rhaziel whispered and Nikolai looked away, looking back at

his father.

“Today is a good day to have a simple conversation with you father. I have blasted you, I’ve injured you actually but you aren’t removing your decision of giving me the title of Alpha.” Nikolai said and began taking slow and powerful strides towards the throne.

“You are my son, my only child.” Alexander said breathlessly.

Nikolai scoffed, a twisted smile forming on his lips and in a blink of an eye,

he appeared in front of Alexander grasping him by his neck.

Devin was about to rush Nikolai when Rhaziel suddenly materialized in front of him and punched him in the stomach, sending Devin flying across the room. Of course, the lycan landed on his feet and glared at Rhaziel with his eyes in their blue wolf-like form.

Rhaziel smirked, cracking his knuckles. “You Novikovs are a handful.”

Yakim sighed deeply and stormed out of the throne room while Albert stood at the corner watching with a serene expression.

Devin growled, his claws erupting. “And you are strong.”

“Fortunately.” Rhaziel chuckled.

“Don’t fight.” Nikolai said to Rhaziel who immediately eased and placed his hands in his pocket.

Devin scoffed and stood up straight. “Who are you to him? Why is such a powerful demon protecting and respecting such a dark being?”

Rhaziel frowned, angered by the Novikov. “He’s my friend and my brother, and I was the only one who protected him when you fools neglected him.”

Albert who heard this, raised his brows in surprise.

Meanwhile, Nikolai who was staring deeply into his father’s crimson eyes looked taken aback and Alexander’s expression was solemn like he had given up on life in everyway.

Nikolai gritted his teeth and released Alexander’s neck. “When did you

become so weak?”

“I wasn’t weak when I killed you.” Alexander whispered.

At

hi’s eyes flashed and without further thinking, he

When Alexander yelled, Albert was the one to run to his aid. However, Rhaziel materialized in front of him and punched him in the opposite direction across the room, but like Devin, Albert landed on his feet with

ease.

“Are you going to kill him?” Rhaziel questioned with a slightly worried expression.

“No, not just yet.” Nikolai responded indifferently, but seeing the level of suffering in Alexander’s eyes, a cunning grin lightened his features. “Father one more movement and you’ll be looking into your own heart. Reconsider your choice to elevate me to Alpha.”

“No.” Alexander’s voice came out strained.

“Do it.” Nikolai growled.

“No!” Alexander yelled.

Nikolai scoffed. “Such a bore.” And withdrew his bloodied hand from Alexander’s chest.

The Alpha inhaled deeply and forcefully while Nikolai stared at him unbothered. “Are you still ignorant?”

“What?” Alexander asked, confused.

“You are.” Nikolai sighed with a small nod then backed away and vanished from sight.
