The Lunar Queen (Lyric and Mason) novel Chapter 79

Chapter 79

Hunter POV

Today has been a whirlwind of a day. Lyric woke up, and that was one of the best things to happen today. Seeing Lyric give all of those assholes the judgment they deserve and set their wolves free was amazing. “Our sister is powerful,” Lars says. Meeting Felicity has been the best thing yet. Her being the daughter of the Beta of Blue Mountain Pack is perfect. Lyric said she would be perfect, but it’s even more than I can imagine. As we drive back to the pack house, Felicity reaches over and grabs my hand, sparks shooting up my entire arm, and I don’t pull away, don’t even think about it, just tighten my grip on hers like I’ve been waiting for that exact

contact all day without realizing it.

“After lunch, do you think we’ll have time for us before the pool party and pack run?” she asks, running her hand up and down my

thigh, making my dick hard instantly.

She smiles when she sees my tent forming. “Oh, we will find time, my mate,” I say, my voice dropping without me meaning it to,

already thinking about pulling her somewhere private before anyone can stop us.

When we step into the pack house, the energy just feels better, lighter. We pile into the dining room with everyone else. The weekend of the mating balls is always so hectic. Lyric notices our parents sitting with our former king and queen and makes her way

over, and we all follow.

“Hey mom, hey dad, and hello your majesties. My name is Lyric,” she says to Cole’s parents, bowing slightly.

“No need for formalities; we are family now,” Cole’s father says. “I am Richard, and this is my mate Leah.”

“My dear, you are absolutely beautiful,” Leah says to her.

“Thank you, that means a lot. Oh, Eli found his second chance mate today,” she says, beaming, dragging Iris to the front of the

group.

“Isn’t she gorgeous? We have the same hair color,” Lyric says excitedly. “I have never seen anyone else with my skin color and hair

color,” she adds.

“Maybe you two are related somehow,” Richard suggests.

Lyric gasps, “Oh my goddess, I didn’t think of that,” she squeals. “Give me your hands,” she says to Iris.

After taking her hands, she closes her eyes, and the air starts to feel a little thicker, not enough for anyone to panic yet, but enough that every wolf in the room feels it and goes still without being told. When her eyes open, they glow purple, and everybody freezes. The room goes dead silent as she spins and locks eyes on my parents. The tables begin to shake, and things start flying.

“Explain,” she and Nova say together.

My mother and father both look terrified, and I’ve never seen them look like that before, not even during attacks.

Chapter 79

“What is going on, Sunny?” Mason asks, trying to get close.

Cole grabs his arm before he can. “Not while she is like this; she will kill you,” he says, and the way he says it isn’t a warning-it’s

fact.

Cole walks up to her and cups her cheeks. “Come back to me, princess,” he says to her.

Slowly, everything stops moving, and the air feels breathable again, like we all just got released from something none of us could

fight.

“How?” she asks, voice cracking, “and don’t lie because I will know.”

“When I found out I was pregnant with triplets, we were so excited. But when I actually gave birth, two of you looked exactly like her, and we knew that one of you would be the one in the prophecy. We thought it would be safer if we separated the two of you, my mother says, tears streaming down her face.

“Wait, I’m lost,” I say.

“Well, let me catch you up to speed, brother. Iris, Summer, and I were triplets, and because our parents didn’t know which one of us was actually Eloise, they thought it wise to split us up,” she says, eyes glowing purple again.

Cole grabs her and sits her on his lap.

“Wait, so Iris is our sister?” I ask.

“Yes,” Lyric says. “And here I was, getting abused by your fucking daughter for looking different than her, and she was the different one the whole damn time,” she yells.

“How could you keep this from me? My whole life has been a lie. I’ve felt like an outcast, and I had a sister who looked like me,” she says, crying, her voice breaking in a way that makes it hit harder than any yelling did.
