The Lunar Queen
Chapter 238
Kaire POV
When the door closes behind Cole I honestly don’t even know what to do. I haven’t been alone with any she-wolf in years let alone my mate. Today has been a whirlwind of a day and the most unbelievable thing about it is Hades is finally calm. Not fighting. Not raging. Calm. I don’t even know how to fully process the day. When I invited them to come, I never expected finding a mate let alone two. I definitely never expected one of my mates to be a man.
“He’s ours too” Hades says.
“I know” I reply.
And strangely enough that part doesn’t bother me nearly as much as I thought it would.
When their pup called me papa Hades howled in delight. I lost so much after Hades took control all those years ago and in a short amount of time I gained an entire family.
The thought should terrify me after everything I lost but instead it makes my chest feel too full.
Her cries bring me back to the moment and out of my head.
“Why the tears love?” I ask her, taking two strides to close the distance between us and taking her hands in mine.
“You saw everything?” she asks quietly.
I lift her chin so her eyes meet mine.
“I did and it changes nothing” I say to her.
If anything it only makes me understand why Fate brought her to us.
“Cole’s never even seen what actually happened, he’s only seen me after or heard about it” she says, tears falling and I wipe each
one.
“Why is me seeing it such a bad thing?” I ask her.
“I don’t want you to look at me differently” she says.
At that I scoop her up and walk to the chair closest to us and sit her in my lap.
The moment she settles against me Hades goes completely quiet again.
“Why would I look at you differently?” I ask, rubbing small circles on her back trying to calm her a little.

Chapter 238
“Because everyone always asks why I didn’t tell or why I didn’t fight back and I just wanted you to see me first and not my pas
she says.
I do wonder why she never told anyone. I saw every accident, every cut and stab wound, I saw the pleading from her friend and still
she said nothing.
But none of that matters compared to the fact that she survived it.
“I only see you Lyric, your past doesn’t define you and you had your reasons. As outsiders we have to respect that even if we don’y like it or agree” I say to her and she turns to look at me.
“Shut up” she says covering her face.
I smile at her.
“You don’t like what I said?” I ask pulling her hands from her face, her beautiful green eyes staring back at me.
She shakes her head.
“No, I loved it” she says.
Something warm settles in my chest at that confession.
“I just didn’t think anyone would believe me over her. She was the future Luna and the pack princess and I was the invisible outcast daughter of the Beta, so I trained a lot so that I could leave when I turned 18” she says.
“I get it love, and you don’t owe me any explanations” I say wiping her tears.
“I know but you should know” she says.
She turns in my lap.
“What was it like?” she asks me.
“Being trapped in my Lycan form?” I ask.
She nods.
“It’s torture because you don’t have any control to shift back. It was like being a passenger in your own body but you can’t speak. I couldnt speak and I was slowly losing who i was. It got worse over the years and soon I was just a Lycan or at least that’s how it felt. I couldn’t even speak to Hades” I say.
