The Lunar Queen (Lyric and Mason) novel Chapter 233

Chapter 233

3

My chest tightens unexpectedly at the way she says deserved.

“We know that neither of you have ever been with a man, but the bond between you two isn’t meant to be romantic although free will is always an option, Cole is the anchor for the bond, the one who will keep the three of you whole, the one who will keep you balanced. He is the one who will keep you two leveled. That is why all three of you are mated, Lyric will only grow stronger as she discovers how her powers work and she will need both of you for what is to come and you two will need each other she says.

My eyes immediately go to Cole.

“trust each other and your growing bond, this new threat is nothing anyone in history has ever faced” she says.

Then she turns to me.

“Your seer gift will begin to grow and sweet Hannah’s will also grow, nurture it and keep her safe. You and your daughters are the strongest seers in our world and he needs them to complete his plan” she says.

Immediately my mind goes to Hannah. Then Eloise. Then all of my pups.

She knows me too well because before I can form the words-

“I cannot tell you child, you know there are limits” she says gently.

“Just keep them close and nurture her gift she can see things that you can’t” she says.

She turns to Kairo.

“I’m sorry my child, you’re grandfather was my first Lycan and none of them deserved what happened to them but your kingdom has been without a King long enough” she says.

Something in his expression shifts and for the first time he looks his age instead of his face.

She smiles.

“Good luck my children” she says before she disappears.

After she leaves the three of us are quiet as we take in everything she just said to us.

A knock on the door breaks the silence.

“I’m sorry….” Javier starts before he notices Kairo.

He drops to his knees instantly.

Chapter 233

“Y-you’re you” he whispers tears falling down his face.

His reaction makes my chest tighten because suddenly Kairo doesn’t feel like somebody returning. He feels like somebody they

thought they lost.

Kairo stands and he is taller than I thought.

He walks over to him and puts his hand on his shoulder.

“You did well Beta, thank you for keeping our kingdom running. Rest now” he says and his shoulders drop.

The relief on Javier’s face is immediate and heartbreaking.

“Thank you Alpha” he says.

I walk over to him and push calm into him and heal the years of stress and pain for his friend.

He picks his head up and looks at me.

“You look like our first Luna” he says.

I smile.

“She was my past self, apparently my soul has been reborn quite a few times” I say.

“Wait, my Lycan says you’re our Luna Queen” he says eyes going wide before he looks at Kairo who just smirks.

“Well yeah I guess I am” I say chuckling.

His eyes flick to Cole then back to Kairo and Kairo shrugs but the amusement in his eyes doesn’t go unnoticed.

“How?, A second chances is rare, but a third bond with an already mated couple is unheard of” He says.

Honestly I feel the same.

“story for another time” Kairo says looking at me then Cole.

“How about some breakfast?” Kairo says.

Javier smiles.

“Your daughter has been asking for you my Queen” he says.

I smile.

“She likes to be close” I say.

Chapter 233

“I’ll have the servants prepare breakfast for us” Javier says rising and looking at Kairo and smiling before walking out the room!

Kairo walks closer to me and pauses and looks at Cole.

“May I touch her?” he asks and I gasp at him.

The question catches me off guard more than the bond did.

Cole looks at me then at him.

“She is ours, no permission needed” he says.

The words settle warmly in my chest.

Kairo releases a breath and lightly touches my cheek and I lean into it and place my hand over his.

The touch doesn’t feel overwhelming. It feels familiar in a way I don’t understand yet.

We may not have known he was out there but as I look between Cole and Kairo I realize Fate never gave us something new. She

returned something that was always ours.
