The Lunar Queen (Lyric and Mason) novel Chapter 125

Chapter 125

Each word lands heavier than the last.

That makes my stomach drop.

“Whatever he is planning, it has to do with you,” he says.

“We will be at the palace tomorrow for your coronation. Please be careful,” he says.

“I will, and you too. Travel safely. We can’t lose you too. You’re in charge now, big brother,” I say.

He lets out a breath.

“Yeah… I guess I am. I am also now officially the new Beta of the Moonveil Pack,” he says.

I smile.

“You will be great. I have to go. See you tomorrow,” I say.

“I love you, Lyric.”

“I love you too, Hunter.”

“We love you too, Hunter,” Jace, Logan, and Iris say.

“I love you too, guys,” he says before ending the call.

“What the fuck is David planning?” Cole snarls.

“Why attack Lyric’s parents?” Dom says.

“He wants me distracted by grief. He needs me to unlock the runes,” I say.

The realization settles deep in my chest, cold and sharp.

“We need to actually start looking for them because we are running out of time, and if he found them the only thing he’s missing is

me,” I say.

“Okay, so where do the pups come into all of this?” Winter asks.

I shake my head.

“David wants me and the magic. He probably knows the triplets will be special and he will use them to help him rise to power. The witches want them to take back what they feel is rightfully theirs,” I say.

Chapter 125

“We can’t let either one of those things happen,” Cole says, growling low, aura spilling out.

I step into his arms and wrap my arms around his waist.

“Calm down, my love,” I say, letting him take in my scent.

“He’s planning something,” Nova says.

&

“I know, but we can’t do anything about what we don’t know,” I say.

“Look, I slept through lunch and then the attack, can we get dinner and discuss the plans for tomorrow, with what just happened

today?” I say.

“He attacked before the deadline we had to turn me over, so now we no longer know what is coming, so we need to be prepared

with all the visiting packs being here,” I say.

Everybody lets that sink in.

“Okay, let’s go get my heavily pregnant mate some food, and then we can talk about security for tomorrow before we all call it a night. Tomorrow is going to be a long day,” Cole says.

Everybody starts making their way out of the room,

the tension lingering, heavy and unresolved-grief mixing with something darker… something coming.

when suddenly I’m pulled into a vision.

It hits fast-violent-like I’m yanked out of my body without warning.

Cole is in the throne room, covered in blood.

Not just splattered-soaked. His clothes, his hands… dripping.

Standing over a body that I can’t see,

and there are bodies laying scattered around the room.

Twisted. Broken. Some barely recognizable. The metallic scent of blood fills my nose like I’m actually there.

It looks like the aftermath of pure chaos around him.

The throne room-destroyed. Cracked marble. Blood smeared across the floors. Silence where there should be life.

Cole doesn’t move.

He just stands there-breathing heavy-like whatever happened isn’t over yet.

Chapter 125

Then I’m pulled back into present day.

My breath stutters as I come back, my body going cold despite the heat still lingering in the room.

And the only thing I can think-

the only thing I feel-

is this:

That wasn’t just a vision.

It felt real.

Too real.

And something deep in my chest twists-

because it doesn’t feel like a possibility.

It feels like something that’s already been set in motion.
