Chapter 119
Lytic POV
After we leave the hospital we all pile into the archives to search for the rest of the prophecy. “I still can’t get used to you being further along than the rest of us now” Winter says.
“imagine how I feel, when I woke up this morning I had a small bump and now I have three almost full term babies actively moving around in there” I say resting my hand on my stomach, my fingers pressing a little harder than necessary as one of them shifts beneath my palm, a reminder that nothing about this is normal anymore.
Cole comes up behind me and hugs me, resting his hands on mine. “that just means we get to meet them sooner” he says, pulling the sonograms out of his pocket and handing them to Winter.
“omg two boys, oh boy Cole is going to spoil that little girl rotten and be wrapped around her finger” Winter says and that makes me laugh a little, even though my chest feels tight, like something is sitting wrong just beneath the surface.
“I’m already wrapped around it” he says, bending down and kissing my stomach. His lips linger there a second too long, like he’s trying to reassure himself they’re still safe.
That makes us all laugh.
“okay I’m loving this moment, but we need to find out what that prophecy says and what it has to do with them accelerating my pregnancy” I say, forcing my tone steady even as unease crawls up my spine, causing a growl to form in Cole’s chest.
“it’s okay my love, we will figure it out” I say, placing my hands on his cheeks, feeling the tension in his jaw, the barely controlled rage sitting right under his skin.
“my queen if I may?” Thomas says, coming from one of the aisles of the archives.
“of course Thomas you may speak freely” I say to him.
He reaches to hand me a scroll.
The moment my hand wraps around the scroll a sharp pulse shoots up my arm-too fast, too hot-like something just recognized me, and I’m thrown into a vision.
I’m in an altar of some sort where a woman leans over a bowl smiling.
“Agora is it done?” another woman says, entering the room.
Agora smiles at her. “yes her pregnancy has been sped up. The moment they are born we will take them” she says.
Nova growls loud in my mind, violent, primal, furious in a way that makes my chest vibrate with it.

Chapter 119
“no one is taking our pups” she snarls
“good if the prophecy is true they will be more powerful than the doppelganger” the woman says.
“it’s the first born I want. He will hold the magic of all 3 bloodlines, he will be more powerful than his mother the others will come
second to him, he is the one I want” she says.
Something in me snaps at that-deep, instinctive, territorial.
She dips her finger into the bowl and grins “everything is falling into place” she says, looking down into bowl.
“when do we move?” the woman asks.
“we wait for David he must strike first and then we will strike” she says.
“go prepare Ingrid it is almost time to get what belongs to us, they locked it away when it was our first. the witches magic is what kept the faction going” she says.
“The child will help us take back everything that was ours” she says before darkness swallows me.
I gasp as the archives come back into focus, my lungs dragging in air like I forgot how to breathe.
“princess” Cole asks, worry etched on his face.
My heart pounds in my chest as I process what I saw, my hand flying protectively to my stomach before I can even think about it.
“they want our first born” I say.
