The Love I Begged For Was Never Real novel Chapter 155

Giselle's face instantly lost all color.

"Shut up!"

She commanded sharply.

Nora didn't stop.

She stepped around her desk, closing the distance between her and Giselle.

"Where exactly do you get your nerve?"

Nora stared directly into Giselle's eyes. "You have absolutely no blood relation to the Hayes family. You are only there because of adoption papers. You're nothing more than an orphan they picked up from St. Jude's Children's Home."

"The food you eat, the clothes you wear, the resources you use to act so high and mighty—it's all charity from the Hayes family."

The entire studio plunged into a deathly silence. Sloane was so shocked she stopped breathing. No one had expected Nora to publicly rip the lid off the Hayes heiress's most guarded secret.

"You survive on someone else's charity and use someone else's resources to decorate your facade. What right do you have to act superior to me?"

Nora looked at Giselle's pale, bloodless face and mercilessly drove the knife deeper. "I am Gideon's legally wedded wife. I am the rightful Mrs. Hayes. And you? You're just an accessory who lives in the shadows, relying on playing the victim to earn sympathy."

"If anyone here is a parasite, it's you, sucking the life out of the Hayes family."

Nora watched Giselle's expression contort with rage. "Strip away the Hayes protection, drop that surname, and you are absolutely nothing. You're an imposter living on handouts. You have no right to throw your weight around in front of me."

Giselle began to physically shake.

More than anything in the world, she hated people bringing up her orphaned past. She hated being reminded she wasn't a biological Hayes.

She had spent her entire life mimicking the mannerisms of a true socialite to bury the fact that she came from an orphanage. And now, in front of all these people, Nora had brutally shredded her carefully constructed mask.

Giselle's eyes went bloodshot.
