The Coldest Man in the Room Melted Only for Me novel Chapter 94

Pierce looked a bit disappointed, but having no other choice, he trudged back to the master bedroom.

Riley still hadn't managed to find evidence of Pierce neglecting their daughter. Despite his infidelity, he genuinely treated Lory well. He bought her the best food and clothes, was always eager to hug and kiss her, and sometimes even helped with diaper changes and baths with a skill that rivaled Riley's own.

Until today...

Riley received a screenshot from Quinn. It was a post from Seraphina's social media showing her son hooked up to an IV drip in a hospital, captioned with a single sentence: So glad you were here with us the whole time.

The 'you' obviously referred to Pierce.

"Pierce must be out of his mind. Ignoring his own daughter to go play daddy to some other man's son."

Riley had just finished listening to Quinn's voice note and was about to reply when her phone rang.

It was an unknown number, and the caller ID showed it was from Statenbury.

Riley answered the call.

"Hello, Ms. Vance. This is Franklin."

Riley was surprised. "Franklin? Is there something you need?"

"Lady Eleanor's birthday banquet is in a few days. Mr. St. John is preparing the party favors and needs..."

As he was speaking, Mrs. Gable came running in, looking frantic. "Ma'am! The baby threw up her milk and won't stop crying! Nothing I do is calming her down. I think something's terribly wrong!"

Riley rushed to the nursery with Mrs. Gable. She found Lory crying so hard her face was flushed, her wails coming in short, breathless gasps. She looked to be in immense pain. "Tell Mr. Carter to get the car ready right now. We're going to the hospital."

After a chaotic scramble, they piled into the car and sped toward the hospital.

On the way, Mrs. Gable asked, "Ma'am, should you give Mr. Landon a call?"

Thinking of Seraphina's post, Riley replied without hesitation, "He's busy. He doesn't have time."

"But Mr. Landon adores her! No matter how busy he is, he'll drop everything and rush over."

Rush over?

If he didn't show up because he was busy comforting Seraphina's son, wouldn't that perfectly constitute neglecting his own daughter?

Realizing this, Riley immediately pulled out her phone to call Pierce, only to discover she was still on the call screen with Franklin. The timer showed nearly two minutes, though the other side had already hung up.
