The Coldest Man in the Room Melted Only for Me novel Chapter 91

In the car.

Riley Vance sat pressed against the window, stealing a covert glance at Sebastian St. John in the backseat with her. He was on a call, holding his phone to his ear with one hand while the other rested casually on his crossed knee.

The sharp, chiseled lines of his profile and his tightly pressed lips exuded a cold, distant aura. He spoke little, responding only with terse phrases like "Yeah," "Fine," "Okay," or "Pending."

Few words, heavy impact, a flat tone, and an overwhelming sense of dominance.

A moment later, he hung up. Riley gathered her courage and broke the silence. "Sebastian, could I ask you for a favor?"

Sebastian's indifferent gaze fell on her face. "What favor?"

"Could you not tell Pierce that you ran into me at Cloudcrest Manor?"

Sebastian looked at her quietly, saying nothing.

His gaze was deep and intense. When his dark eyes settled on someone so silently, it was intimidating. Riley felt utterly on edge under his scrutiny. "I just don't want him to worry. I know what I did was wrong, and I won't do it again."

Sebastian withdrew his gaze and looked out the window. After a couple of seconds, he gave a faint "Hmm."

Riley knew that was his way of agreeing and instantly breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank you, Sebastian."

Sebastian didn't respond again.

With her goal achieved, Riley didn't bother him further. She sat quietly, admiring the scenery outside.

Statenbury was truly a bustling metropolis. The towering skyscrapers and the endless stream of traffic filled the air with a modern, affluent vibrancy.

Just as she was admiring a particularly unique building, the man's deep, crisp voice rang out in the car.
