Ethan Sutton was Seraphina's brother and Pierce's good friend.

A year ago, after Seraphina had drugged her, Ethan had personally apologized to Riley.

Pierce had even asked if she minded him staying friends with Ethan.

One thing had nothing to do with the other. Seraphina was the one who committed the crime; Riley naturally wouldn't hold it against Ethan.

Riley replied, “I know.”

Pierce looked slightly surprised. “How did you know?”

Pierce hadn't hidden anything from her, and he hadn't even mentioned Seraphina's name, simply referring to her as Ethan's sister.

All the displeasure in Riley's heart vanished instantly, and she playfully said, “Take a guess.”

“Did you hire someone to spy on me?” Pierce replied in a similarly teasing tone.

“Don't be ridiculous.” Riley shot him a playful glare. “If you really wanted to do something to betray me, spying on you wouldn't mean a thing. Quinn told me.”

“Why is she involved in everything?” Pierce smiled helplessly.

For the next two weeks, Riley barely saw Pierce.

He said he needed to wrap up all his company affairs early so he could stay by her side during her maternity leave and await the baby's arrival together.

Today was her last day of work. With only two weeks left until her due date, her maternity leave officially started tomorrow.

As she was handing over her tasks, the hospital director personally came to her office.
