The Coldest Man in the Room Melted Only for Me novel Chapter 58

Her head was flooded with every suspicious interaction between Pierce and Seraphina.

Right before her due date, he had lied about a business trip to Ashford to stay with Seraphina's son in the hospital, while Riley had nearly bled to death during a horrific delivery.

On the night of Alora's one-month celebration, he had blown them off to throw a party for that same little boy.

When they finally hosted the makeup banquet, she found him half-dressed in a lounge with a supposedly drugged Seraphina, before he carried her out in front of half the city.

And the notoriously stoic Pierce Landon had engaged in a public fistfight to defend her honor.

Individually, there was always an excuse, but stacked together, they were like jagged shards of glass embedded in her chest. She could barely breathe without it agonizingly cutting into her.

He claimed to be so suffocated by work that he couldn't attend her prenatal visits, couldn't reply to her texts, couldn't answer her calls, and couldn't even visit his newborn daughter at the recovery center.

Yet he somehow always found the time to cater to Seraphina's every whim.

And he had the nerve to call her hysterical?

Riley threw her arm over her eyes, silent tears pooling and slipping down into her hairline.

Within minutes, her pillow was soaked.

As she lay there drowning in misery, her phone began to ring.

She wiped her face and saw Quinn calling. Taking a few deep, shuddering breaths to steady herself, she answered.

"Everything at the precinct is settled," Quinn said.

"Okay," Riley whispered.

"Are you and Pierce alright?"

Riley stared blankly at the ceiling.

"Riley?" Quinn's voice was laced with worry.

"I want a divorce." It was the first time she had ever voiced the thought, but it was the absolute truth.

"Did you guys have a huge fight?"

"Yeah."
