The CEO's Regret: His Lost Wife's Secret Twins novel Chapter 253

Chapter 253

“Of course, sweetie.”

“This year we have more family,” William said softly, his small hand clenching. I caught him glancing toward Blake.

Blake noticed it too. Their eyes met.

“William, Blake said, his voice surprisingly gentle, “next year, I’ll personally throw a party for you and your sister. Want to help me plan

it?

William shifted awkwardly. “That… that depends on my schedule…” But the corner of his mouth turned up slightly. He couldn’t hide his

happiness.

The next morning, we accompanied Elizabeth and Rebecca to the Mitchell home. The elderly couple burst into tears when they learned

Rebecca had found her birth mother and brother.

“We never thought Rebecca would find her real family, Mrs. Mitchell said, dabbing her eyes. “What a blessing for her!”

Elizabeth reached for the woman’s hand. “The blessing was Rebecca having you both in her life.”

Mrs. Mitchell shook her head. “We failed her. We were too poor to give her what she deserved. She was such a smart student, but she had to drop out to work and help pay our debts. She never told us-we found out later she’d been skipping school for months to work. We

failed her so badly!”

Elizabeth began sobbing. I handed tissues to both women while Rebecca stood by, fighting back tears herself.

Blake pulled out his checkbook, his expression pained. “You gave Rebecca something money can’t buy-a loving home. Please accept this

as our thanks.

The elderly couple refused. “We’re too old for money to matter. Give it to Rebecca instead. Mrs. Mitchell sighed. “When we found her, she was purple from cold, couldn’t even cry loudly… Just promise you won’t abandon her again.”

“I swear on my life, Elizabeth vowed. ‘It was negligence, not intention. Would you consider moving into Morgan Mansion with us? Rebecca, would you want that?”

Rebecca nodded, smiling through her tears.

As Jack arranged the logistics, we returned to Morgan Mansion. The atmosphere shifted instantly. Blake’s face hardened as he ordered

Henderson brought in.

Chapter 253

The man who appeared barely resembled the powerful figure I remembered. Henderson’s hair had turned completely white, his face

hollow. When he saw Elizabeth and Rebecca, his eyes lit up with desperate hope.

Elizabeth immediately positioned herself in front of Rebecca. “Why is he here?”

“He begged to see Rebecca, Blake explained coldly. “I thought it appropriate.”

I couldn’t help the cold laugh that escaped me. “How does it feel, Henderson, knowing you abandoned your daughter?”

‘I didn’t know,” he insisted, voice shaking. “Ella deceived me. I thought my daughter died at birth.”

Blake grabbed Henderson’s collar. “You have no right to feel anything! Because of you, Rebecca lost everything she should have had. She had to quit school and work! Meanwhile, Victoria had everything but turned out worthless!”

Henderson begged Rebecca to forgive him, to call him “Dad.” She refused.

“Why?” he demanded. “You forgave them. Why not me?”

Rebecca stared at him. “Because you knew I existed but never bothered to check if I was truly unhealthy. You believed your mistress and replaced me with another child. For decades, you kept my mother and brother from discovering the truth.”

Henderson tried to defend himself, claiming Ella’s pregnancy troubles made him sympathetic.

Elizabeth laughed bitterly. “It doesn’t matter anymore. I see you clearly now-a disgusting, contemptible man. I’m grateful I eventually saw your true nature and didn’t spend my life with a devil.”

“From now on,” I told Elizabeth, feeling protective of this woman who’d suffered so much, “Henderson is no longer your burden. Rebecca has returned to you. You’ll have a new life filled with happiness and peace.”

Henderson collapsed, crawling toward Rebecca. “I’m your father! You must forgive me!” He turned to Elizabeth. “You always loved me! You

can’t throw me away now!”

We watched in silence as he begged. Blake signaled to security.

“The former Morgan Enterprises chairman seems mentally unstable,’ he said coldly. “Tell those watching him to take extra special care of

him. Show no mercy.”

Henderson’s terrified screams echoed as they dragged him away, gradually turning into broken sobs.
