The CEO's Regret: His Lost Wife's Secret Twins novel Chapter 236

Chapter 236

ARIA

The next day

I stood at the company entrance with flowers, watching Jessica look around nervously. We had everything ready-red carpet, employees

lined up, everyone dressed up.

“Where is he?” I checked my watch. “His flight landed an hour ago.”

Jessica adjusted her glasses. “Mr. King wanted to meet here instead of the airport. Said he had a big surprise for you.”

I frowned. “Surprise? What does that mean?”

“Ms. Taylor, Jessica hesitated, “do you know LY Technology’s CEO personally?”

The question caught me off guard. “Why would I? During my time in Europe, I barely went out. Nobody knew who I was.”

A strange feeling settled in my stomach. I handed the flowers to Jessica.

Hold these. I need to step away for a minute.”

A silver Mercedes pulled up to our red carpet. Employees straightened immediately. When the door opened, a tall man with gold-rimmed glasses stepped out-handsome, refined, radiating confidence. Female employees whispered excitedly.

My blood turned to ice. I couldn’t move.

“You…” My voice died.

He walked straight to me, smiling. “Ms. Taylor, it’s been a while. Do you remember me?”

Time slowed. He extended his hand.

“Alex King, CEO of LY Technology. Three years ago, you were quite obsessed with me, weren’t you?”

Shock turned to fury. “Don’t lie! I wasn’t obsessed-I was protecting my friend from you! You helped David try to hurt Olivia during her

pregnancy!”

Alex’s smile never wavered. “Do you remember our last meeting?”

“The Business Innovation Summit,” I said coldly. “That’s when you started climbing, right? Who’s backing you? Who gave you the power to become CEO?”

Hard work, he replied simply. That’s all it takes.”

He stepped closer, taking the flowers from Jessica’s hands. He brought them to his nose, inhaling deeply.

🙂

I’m truly looking forward to LY Technology’s collaboration with Nouvelle Retail Group.”

In my office, I maintained my professional composure despite my racing heart. “The collaboration between our companies isn’t finalized

yet.”

Alex’s smile turned predatory. “Isn’t it? The mere news of our potential partnership has already tripled your customer traffic. Your stock

price jumped twelve percent this morning.

He walked around my office, examining everything. I felt cold, sick-I hated how he acted so entitled, touching my things, invading my

space.

“Ms. Taylor, you’ve always put business first,” he continued. “Surely you wouldn’t let personal feelings interfere with such a profitable

partnership?”

Jessica glanced worriedly between us.

“I meant it literally,” I said, forcing my voice to remain steady. “The papers haven’t been signed yet.”

“Of course,” Alex nodded. ‘Shall we discuss the details then?”

The next few hours were all business. I showed Alex around, explained our marketing plans, and discussed campaigns for LY Technology s electric vehicles. Everything seemed to go well.

By lunch, I was exhausted.

I’m starving, Alex said. ‘Let’s eat and keep talking.”

I tried to get out of it. “Jessica can take you to our dining room. I have urgent-

“That’s disappointing, Alex cut me off. “I came to eat food, not to eat you.”

His crude comment made my skin crawl. I felt trapped.

Rebecca rushed in. ‘Aria, Mr. Morgan is here!”

Thank God. Anyone but Alex right now.

“Should I show him in?” Jessica asked.

“Yes,” I said too quickly. “Please.”

I turned to Alex. “Sorry, but I have a meeting with Morgan Global’s CEO.

Alex’s expression changed when he heard Blake’s company name. Another time then. We’ll have plenty of chances.”

His words sounded like a threat.

:))

Blake and Alex passed each other at the door. Two completely different men. Alex looked up at Blake with an unreadable expression. For a moment, Blake’s face hardened, like he sensed danger.

After Alex left, Blake turned to me. “I brought you lunch.

“What?”

He put a container on my desk. “The kids and I made it this morning.”

This Blake seemed different from the cold CEO everyone knew. His eyes were softer, his voice gentler.

“You didn’t need to,” I said, feeling awkward after what happened in the car.

“William was worried you weren’t eating properly,” Blake explained. “Aurora insisted on helping.”

“You shouldn’t spoil them,” I said, trying to sound stern.

“I wanted to bring it,” Blake admitted. “If you’re busy, I can leave and go.”

I opened the container. Steak, pasta, and little rice balls shaped like animals-obviously Aurora’s work. My stomach growled.
