For the first time in years, I felt… lighter. Not just physically, but emotionally too. Blake handled everything, letting me focus on the

children.

“Mommy, can I get a new toy before we go?” Aurora asked, pulling my sleeve.

“We have plenty of toys at home, sweetie,” I started.

Blake jumped in. “I can take her to the gift shop while you finish here with William.”

Aurora’s eyes brightened. “Please, Mommy?”

I hesitated, then nodded. “Okay, but just one small toy.”

As they walked out hand in hand, William caught my eye. “Mom, are you still mad at him?”

“It’s complicated, William,” I said, folding his pajamas.

“He’s really trying,” William said.

“I know.” I just wasn’t sure if it was enough to fix what had broken.

Twenty minutes passed with no sign of Blake and Aurora. I finished packing William’s things and went to look for them. Near the hospital gift shop, I heard angry voices.

“What an ill-mannered wild child,” a woman said loudly. “Grabbing toys without asking. No wonder, with no proper upbringing.”

My blood boiled as I hurried forward. Turning the corner, I saw Blake standing in front of Aurora, who held a stuffed dolphin, looking

confused.

“My daughter has better manners than most adults,” Blake said coldly. “Including you, madam.”

The woman scoffed. ‘Daughter? Everyone knows Morgan’s ex-wife had bastard children with-

“I’ve transferred billions in assets to my ex-wife and our two children,” Blake cut in, his voice deadly quiet. ‘Aurora is the heiress to the Morgan fortune. Choose your next words carefully.”

I froze, shocked. The woman turned pale, mumbled apologies, and hurried away.

Blake knelt to Aurora’s level. “Don’t listen to mean people, princess. You are a Morgan, and no one can take that away from you.”

Aurora nodded seriously. “Can I still have the dolphin?”

‘Of course, Blake smiled, standing up.

That’s when he saw me standing there, having heard everything.

“Aria,” he said, surprised.

“Can we talk?” I asked quietly.

Blake nodded, paid for Aurora’s toy, and asked a nurse to watch her for a moment. We stepped into a quiet corner.

“You transferred billions to me and the children?” I asked directly.

Blake ran a hand through his hair. “I didn’t want you to find out this way. And I definitely didn’t tell Emma about it.”

“Emma knows?” My stomach dropped.

“Someone told her. I wanted to explain that I had nothing to do with her finding out. I was worried you’d think I was still connected to

her somehow.

I stared at him, confused. “You transferred billions of dollars to us, and your first worry is that I might think you’re still involved with

Emma?*

Blake nodded, looking uncomfortable.

“Blake, I had already accepted Matthew’s proposal. Was giving away your fortune really worth it?”

“Yes,” he said without hesitation. “Giving my assets to you and our children will never be something I regret.”

“Why would you do that?”

“I wanted you to have security in your marriage,” he explained. “I know money can’t fix everything, but in this world, wealth is the strongest safety net.’

His words reminded me of the wedding day when he’d given me the most expensive gift. Blake had always tried to provide security through money.

“Even after all this, I’m not ready to fully accept you back, Blake,” I said honestly.

“I understand,” he replied, surprising me. “I’m not trying to pressure you or make you feel guilty. I just want you not to be angry with me.”

I studied his face, seeing none of the coldness that used to be there. This softer Blake was harder to resist, and that scared me.

‘I need to keep my guard up,” I said, more to myself than him. “I can’t fall into this emotional mess you’re creating.”
