The CEO's Regret: His Lost Wife's Secret Twins novel Chapter 222

Chapter 222

That’s why William has blood abnormalities and Aurora has neurological problems, Olivia continued. “Aria has spent three years fighting

to keep them alive, getting treatments, researching specialists.”

I leaned against the wall, feeling sick. “Why would Christine do this?”

“Because Emma wanted you for herself! They wanted Aria gone so Emma could take her place!”

Aurora’s comment suddenly made sense: “Mommy takes lots of medicine to stay strong for us.”

“Do you understand now?” Olivia demanded. “Do you finally see what kind of monsters you’ve been protecting?”

My left hand began to shake. The woman I’d defended-had she poisoned the mother of my children? Caused my son’s cancer?

I walked toward William’s room, needing to see him.

“Don’t,” Olivia blocked my path. “Aria just got him to sleep. He needs rest.”

Her words stung, but she was right.

“Take care of them,” I said hoarsely.

I turned to Kevin. “I’m leaving.”

“Where are you going?” He grabbed my arm.

“There’s something I need to handle.

Kevin studied my face, then nodded. ‘I’ll have the car brought around.”

‘No. You stay here. Keep Aurora safe.” My voice turned cold. “This is something I need to handle personally.”

The castle was quiet when I arrived. The wedding guests had gone, staff cleaning up the mess. Emma was in a guest suite, guarded by my

security.

I dismissed the guards. “Give me twenty minutes. Alone.”

I entered the suite. Emma had cleaned William’s blood from her hands and put on makeup to look pale and weak. She wore a borrowed robe that made her seem small and fragile. When she saw me, she instantly looked distressed and relieved.

*Blake, she turned, summoning artificial tears on cue. “I’ve been so worried. How’s the little boy? I never meant to hurt him-I was trying

to stop Aria from ruining everything between us.”

She stopped when she saw my face.

“Blake? Her voice quavered.

I stared at her silently. This woman who once saved my life. The woman I’d protected for years out of misplaced gratitude and loyalty. The

debt I thought I owed her had cost me everything that truly mattered.

Her phone rang. She answered on speaker.

“Emma, you stupid, selfish bitch!” her manager screamed. “You’ve destroyed everything! Your career is over! Mine too!”

“I don’t understand- Emma stammered.

“Morgan Enterprises just released evidence linking you to Aaron’s murder! Blake himself has vowed to pursue charges!”

Emma’s eyes darted to me.

“All your endorsements are cancelled. Your fan pages are shut down. And I’m stuck with millions in breach of contract penalties!”

The manager hung up. Emma dropped her phone, watching it shatter.

“This can’t be happening,” she whispered, pulling at her hair.

I finally spoke. “My son has leukemia.”

Emma’s head snapped up. “What?”

“William. The three-year-old you stabbed today. He has cancer.” My voice remained calm. “Caused by the poison your mother gave to Aria.

‘I don’t know what you’re talking about, Emma backed away. “Blake, you know me-

“I thought I knew you.” I stepped closer. “I defended you for years. Protected you. Chose you over Aria. And you repaid me by poisoning the mother of my children.

Emma’s expression changed, calculation replacing fear. “Blake, darling,” she reached for me. ‘Let me explain-

“My son is fighting for his life because of you.”

I pulled something from my pocket. Emma didn’t see it at first, still trying to embrace me.

“I loved you,” I whispered. “I sacrificed everything for you.”

She smiled, thinking she was winning me over. “I know, and I-

The blade slipped between her ribs with a muffled thud. It wasn’t meant to be fatal-just a lesson in how it felt.
