Chapter 170
When she turned to walk away, I grabbed her wrist. I hated myself for it, but I couldn’t let her go. Not again. The memory of watching her
leave three years ago still haunted me-the emptiness, the regret, the sleepless nights wondering if I’d ever get another chance.
“Let go of me!” she demanded, trying to pull away.
I was stronger. I led her back to my car, opened the passenger door, and guided her inside. Once I got in the driver’s seat, I locked the
doors.
“So what, you’re gonna force me to admit whatever crazy thing you want me to admit?” she asked, her voice shaking with anger.
“I’m sorry,” I said, the words coming out dry and raspy. I wasn’t just apologizing for grabbing her-I was apologizing for everything.
All those times I’d treated her coldly when she was my assistant. The times I’d prevented her from seeing her father, Aaron. That day on
the cliff when I couldn’t save her in time.
“I’m sorry, Aria. I was wrong… I messed up so bad…”
“What are you talking about?” she asked, but there was a flicker of something in her eyes. Recognition, maybe. Fear, definitely.
“You know exactly what I’m talking about,” I insisted, studying her face, her body, making sure she was truly unharmed. “You know.”
My voice broke. “Aria, these past three years, I’ve felt your pain every single day.”
I described the sensation of falling into an abyss, the terror and helplessness. The same feelings that had haunted me every day in the
hospital.
She laughed, a cold, empty sound, and yanked her hand away from my weakened left grip.
“You done with this pity party?” she asked. “I didn’t sign up to be your therapist.”
“You’re still hung up on Emma,” she continued. “She might be in the hospital after that fan attack, but she’s still your fiancée. You should go to her instead of harassing random women who look like your ex.”
“Just stop, Mr. Morgan. For Emma’s sake, let me out of this car.”
“Ari,” I said, my voice breaking, my eyes burning.
“I’m Arya!” she snapped. “Not whoever you think I am!”
“Ari,” I said stubbornly. “That’s what I’m calling you. Tell me to shut up if you don’t like it.”

Chapter 170
She smiled coldly. ‘Is this how you close deals, Mr. Morgan? Strong-arm tactics?’
“I just want to make things right. Fix what I broke. Give me that chance.”
“If you’re done with this crazy talk, can I leave now?” She reached for the door.
I snapped. Three years of longing exploded. I pushed her against the seat and kissed her.
Her lips were exactly as I remembered. Soft. Sweet. Mine. She softened against me, fingers pressing weakly at my chest. I wanted to tear away her masks-physical and emotional.
Then her slap cracked across my face.
“What the hell is wrong with you?” she shouted.
I wiped blood from my lip. “I’m kissing my wife. The woman I love-the woman I can’t get out of my head.”
She stared at me, rage written across her face. I realized I’d never told her I loved her before. I’d said I cared for her, that I wanted her,
but never that I loved her.
“You’ll do anything to make me say I’m someone I’m not, she whispered.
“Aria!” I shouted, all my carefully maintained control shattering.
A knock on the window interrupted us. I looked up to see Jack standing there.
While I turned toward Jack’s voice, Aria seized her chance. She shoved my arm away, yanked the door handle, and bolted from the car. I reached for her, but she was already gone, hurrying toward the mall entrance without looking back.
