Chapter 169
BLAKE

“Sir, this is Eric Baker, son of Robert Baker from Baker Group, my head of security reported. “Multiple sexual harassment cases in college
that were swept under the rug. Suspected of drugging women last year. Currently facing three pending lawsuits.”
“Baker Group, I repeated. The name was familiar-we had several ongoing contracts with them.
“Yeah, your father signed a joint venture agreement with them last quarter.”
I straightened my cuffs, looking directly at Eric. “Kill every contract with Baker Group. Now. Get all the dirt on this guy and send it
straight to the FBI. Everything. Nothing gets buried this time.”
Eric’s face turned ghost white. “Mr. Morgan, please! I didn’t know she was yours! I screwed up!”
“The screwup wasn’t touching her,” I said coldly. “It was thinking you could touch anyone without consent.
I turned away as my security dragged him off. I didn’t care where they took him, as long as it was far away from Aria.
When I approached her, I softened my voice. “Hey, you okay? Did he hurt you?”
She maintained her distance, her expression guarded. “Pretty sure you’ve got me confused with someone else. Again.”
“Do I?” I asked.
‘Not sure how much this concern of yours costs, Mr. Morgan,” she said sarcastically.
I frowned. “You think I put a price tag on caring about people?”
She glanced at the retreating figure of Eric, then back at me. “You rich guys are all the same-thinking you own everything and everyone. And when it comes to women, you just hop from one to the next without blinking,”
Before I could respond, she turned and walked quickly toward a taxi waiting at the curb.
I stood there watching her leave, my jaw clenched tight. The chill of the night air suddenly felt colder. Every fiber of my being wanted to run after her, to make her understand, but I held back.
I’d been patient. I’d been careful. And still, she looked at me with those cold, hateful eyes.
But if patience wasn’t working… maybe it was time for a different approach.
My chest ached as I watched her disappear into the night. It felt like someone had stabbed my heart and was twisting the knife. I couldn’t

help thinking that if Aria and I had had a child three years ago, everything would be different now. She wouldn’t have left me. Our
relationship wouldn’t have shattered beyond recognition.
I drove straight to the soon-to-open Nouvelle Retail Group mall. I parked my Bentley in the empty lot and waited. All night.
I didn’t go to the office. I didn’t go home. I just sat there, watching the stars fade and the sun rise, thinking about what I would say to
her when she arrived for her final inspection.
When morning came, I saw her car pull into the parking lot. She stepped out, dressed in a sharp business suit, her hair pulled back in a
tight bun. Even at this distance, I could see the moment she spotted my car. Her whole body tensed.
She stopped walking, seeming to debate whether to turn around and leave. I saw her pull out her phone, probably texting Jessica to take
over the inspection.
I got out of my car before she could escape. My body felt stiff from sitting all night, and I probably looked like hell, but I didn’t care.
“Aria,” I called, my voice hoarse from lack of sleep.
She turned to face me, her expression hardening. “It’s Arya. Not whatever name you keep calling me.”
“Just give me five minutes,” I said, walking closer. “I need to talk to you.”
She took a step back. “You look terrible. Did you spend the night here?” Her eyes widened as she realized the truth. ‘Are you seriously
stalking me now?”
