Soon-to-be fiancée? Girlfriend?’ I shot back. “When exactly did you score this girlfriend, Redwood? Must’ve missed that announcement.”

Matthew stepped forward, reaching for Aria. “Arya and I have been together for months. We’re already planning the wedding. Back off.”

Something icy settled in my gut. Wedding plans? With MY wife? Not a chance in hell.

I yanked Aria back against me, my voice dropping to a dangerous level. Then consider those plans canceled.”

“You’ve got zero right to interfere here, Morgan, Matthew growled.

“My wife’s affairs are absolutely my business,” I stated flatly.

The room went dead silent. Aria froze against me. There it was-the bomb I’d been waiting to drop.

“Wife?” Matthew’s eyes darted between us.

“That’s right. Aria is my legally wedded wife. Her name’s on my marriage certificate.” I savored the shock spreading across both their faces.

“Has been for six years.

Aria went stiff as a board. I knew exactly what was running through her mind. Our five-year marriage contract from six years ago. She probably figured after she vanished, I would’ve torn up our marriage. Rookie mistake, sweetheart. I never did. Not for a single day.

Matthew recovered first. “You already screwed up once,” he said coldly. “You really want to repeat the disaster from three years ago?”

I felt Aria flinch. That bastard knew exactly where to hit. He was talking about what happened right before she disappeared-the worst

damn day of my life.

Matthew turned to her, voice softening. “Arya, what’ll it be? You coming with me or staying with Mr. CEO here?”

I waited, knowing what she’d say but hoping anyway. Pathetic, really. Three years hadn’t changed a damn thing.

“I’m going with you,’ she said flatly.

She turned to face me, eyes cold as ice. “Mr. Morgan, my boyfriend’s here now. You still planning to force me to stay?”

Mr. Morgan? After I just called her my wife? That cut deeper than I expected. I almost laughed at how easily she could still gut me.

“Ari,” I said softly, using the nickname only I had ever called her.

I released my hold, though everything in me screamed not to let go. Three years of searching, and I was watching her walk away again. “I’ve missed you. Every single day for three years.”

I touched her cheek. ‘I’m sorry for everything. More than you’ll ever know.”

Her eyes widened, confusion flashing across her face. Good. She wasn’t expecting an apology. She wasn’t expecting gentle.

‘I’ll see you soon, darling, I promised, bending down to kiss her eyelids lightly.

I felt her tremble. Not so indifferent after all. Whatever garbage she was spewing, her body still remembered mine.

Matthew pulled her away, stance screaming for a fight. “Back off, Morgan.

Aria tugged on his arm, stopping what might’ve turned ugly. Smart as always. She never did have the stomach for confrontation. They

bolted.

Jack burst in seconds later. “Boss! I just saw-was that- He stopped, looking confused. “That woman with Mr. Redwood… wasn’t she that

plain Jane Aria from accounting? But she looked… totally different.”

“That wasn’t Redwood’s girlfriend,” I said, voice steady despite the hurricane inside me. She wasn’t Redwood’s anything. She was mine.

Always had been.

Three years ago, I scared her off. Pushed too hard. Lost her. I was too angry, too demanding, too everything. Not this time. This time, I’d

play it smart. Win her back inch by inch. Whatever it took.

She was still my wife. And now that I’d found her, I wasn’t letting her vanish again. Not a chance.

EMMA

The door slammed shut. Finally alone in the private room. My hands trembled as I pulled out the small vial from my purse. Perfect timing -or catastrophic, depending on your perspective.

I stared at the clear liquid. One drop in his drink, and Blake would’ve been completely mine. Tonight was supposed to be the night I finally got him to see me as more than just Emma, his sister’s tag-along friend.

But she was here. Aria freaking Taylor. Alive.

Not just alive-but gorgeous, polished, and apparently dating Matthew. And Blake-Jesus, the way he looked at her. I’d never seen that expression on his face. Not once. Not with anyone. Certainly not with me.

I clutched the vial tighter. Time was running out. If Aria was back, everything I’d worked for these past years would go up in smoke. Just

like that.
