BLAKE

I caught her just in time. One second later and she would’ve crashed into that glass wall. Victoria had completely lost it, pushing this

woman toward potential serious injury. But none of that mattered now. Because the woman in my arms…

It was her. Those eyes. That face half-hidden behind a mask. The way her body fit perfectly against mine.

Gasps rippled through the restaurant. I couldn’t care less. Three years of searching, of waking up drenched in sweat reaching for someone who wasn’t there, of seeing her face in crowds only to be disappointed – and now she was here. Real. Breathing. Alive.

“Get your hands off her,” I growled at Victoria, tightening my grip around the woman’s waist.

“Blake! Thank God you’re here,” Victoria’s voice grated against my ears. “This woman was threatening me! Said she’d make everyone hate the Morgans! And she’s been throwing herself at Matthew too!”

I barely registered Victoria’s words. All I could focus on was the woman in my arms. Her heart hammered against my chest, her breathing

quick and shallow.

“She has zero respect for you, Blake! She-*

“That’s enough,” I cut her off, never taking my eyes off the woman I thought I’d lost forever.

She frowned, attempting to pull away. “Look, this isn’t what your sister is making it out to be…”

Look? The formality hit me like a sucker punch. Was she pretending not to know me?

‘I’m Arya,” she continued, her voice controlled and professional. “We’ve never actually met before.”

Arya? Not Aria? My grip tightened. She wasn’t going anywhere. Not again.

“You seriously don’t know who I am?” I asked, my voice rough with emotion.

She struggled against my hold. Let me go. Now.”

“Say my name,” I demanded, memories flooding back. The way she used to whisper my name in the darkness. “Come on, say it.”

Victoria’s shrill voice interrupted. “Blake! What are you doing? She’s wearing that ridiculous mask! And Emma’s waiting for you in the private room!”

“Shut it,” I snapped without looking at my sister. Victoria backed away immediately, confusion written all over her face. She’d clearly expected me to take her side.

Chapter 157

“Hey, the woman spoke coldly, ‘you don’t need to grab me like this just to make your point.”

Make my point? Was that what she thought I was doing?

“What’s with the mask?’ I asked, my fingers tracing its edge. “What are you hiding?”

She jerked away violently. “Back off! What I wear is none of your business!*

My fingers moved from the mask to the delicate skin of her neck. The contact sent electricity through my body. This was real. She was

real.

Without warning, I lifted her into my arms and carried her toward the private VIP room at the back of the restaurant.

“What the hell do you think you’re doing? Put me down!” She pounded against my chest, her voice rising in panic.

I kicked the door shut behind us and set her down, but kept her trapped between my body and the wall. The dim lighting threw shadows across her masked face, making her eyes glow with amber fire.

“Aria…” Her name felt sacred on my lips.

“That’s not even my name!”

‘Why’d you wait so long to come back?” I asked, my voice breaking. “Do you have any idea how long I’ve been looking for you?”

Her eyes widened behind the mask. I caught that flicker of recognition, no matter how hard she tried to hide it.

I pressed my forehead against hers, breathing her in. “It’s really you. Tell me I’m right.”

Her throat worked as she swallowed hard. “You’ve got the wrong person. I’m not who you think.”

‘Don’t lie to me,’ I begged, desperation clawing at my chest. “Not after everything.”

Her eyes remained cold. “This is getting weird. You’ve obviously confused me with someone else.”
