The CEO's Regret: His Lost Wife's Secret Twins novel Chapter 127

Chapter 127

“Crystal clear.

I hung up and turned back to the teddy bear. Who would Olivia meet with such secrecy? The hope I’d been nursing for three years flared bright in my chest. What if Aria was alive? What if she’d been hiding, recovering, and Olivia was the only one who knew?

I grabbed my jacket, hands shaking slightly. Sleep wouldn’t come tonight anyway. If there was even the smallest chance Aria was coming back, I needed to be there. I needed to see her face, to beg for her forgiveness, to tell her how every day without her had been hell.

Kennedy International Airport buzzed with the usual midday chaos. I stood at a distance, watching the arrival gate, my heart pounding so hard I could hear it over the crowd noise. Olivia hadn’t noticed me yet. She paced nervously, checking her watch every few minutes. The wide-brimmed hat and designer sunglasses didn’t hide her identity from me.

Jack stood beside me, tablet in hand. ‘Ms. Redwood’s contact arrived on flight AA278 from London. Just landed.”

I nodded, eyes fixed on Olivia, hope and terror warring in my chest. This had to be about Aria. The secrecy, the nervous energy radiating from Olivia – she was hiding something big. Maybe Aria had been in London, recovering. Maybe she was finally ready to come home.

“She been in touch with anyone since she got here?” I asked, my voice hoarse.

“Just a text. Sent about fifteen minutes back. Couldn’t crack what it said.”

My hands clenched into fists. What if the text was to Aria? What if she was scared to see me? God, what if she blamed me for what happened? She should. It was my fault.

The CEO’s Regret: His Lost Wife’s Secret Twins

Chapter 128

Olivia glanced around once more, then froze when her eyes landed on me. I moved toward her, my legs feeling unsteady. This was it. This

was the moment I’d been waiting three years for.

“Blake!” Olivia’s voice shot up, but there was something in her tone panic? “What the hell are you doing here?”

I stepped right in front of her, close enough to see the guilt in her eyes. She knew something. About Aria.

“Funny. I was about to ask you the same thing.” My voice came out desperate despite my attempt at control. “Who are you meeting? Is it…

is it her?”

She recovered fast, shock turning to pure annoyance. “What, is Morgan Global tanking? Why else would the great Mr. Morgan waste time

stalking me at an airport?”

“Don’t play games with me, Olivia.” My voice cracked.

“I don’t owe you shit.” Her phone buzzed. A strange expression crossed her face. “Plane’s landed.”

Passengers started streaming through arrivals. I scanned each face desperately, my heart stopping at every dark-haired woman. Every familiar laugh made me turn, hope and fear making my hands shake.

Then I saw him – a guy in a suit walking up with a briefcase. Nothing special about him except how he walked straight to Olivia.

“Ms. Redwood?” He held out his hand. “Harold Anderson. Thanks for meeting me.”

The world tilted. Not Aria. Just some stranger. The crushing disappointment hit me like a physical blow, leaving me gasping. My legs

nearly gave out.

Olivia shook his hand, avoiding my eyes. “Mr. Anderson, welcome to New York.”

The lawyer noticed me and frowned. “And he is…?”

“Him?” Olivia’s voice was cold now. “That’s Blake. Apparently he’s playing airport security today.”

“A lawyer?” I couldn’t hide the devastation in my voice. “You needed all this drama for some attorney?”

“What did you think you’d find here, Blake?” Her eyes were filled with something that looked like pity. “Someone else?”

“Look, I’m not doing this right now,” she snapped, but I could see the pain in her eyes too. “Wasn’t planning on dealing with your bullshit today, but since you’re here – we’re not friends. After what happened with Aria, after watching you destroy yourself with this delusion for

three years, I can’t do this anymore.”
