The CEO's Regret: His Lost Wife's Secret Twins novel Chapter 128

Chapter 128

Anderson looked like he wanted to bolt.

“Maybe we should go somewhere private,’ he said weakly.

‘You know what?” Olivia kept going, her voice breaking slightly. “Instead of following me around looking for ghosts, why don’t you go find your precious Emma? She’s the only one who can stand watching you torture yourself like this. Aria is gone, Blake. She’s been gone for

three years, and you need to accept that.”

She grabbed Anderson’s arm. “We’re leaving.”

They walked away, Olivia never looking back. I remained rooted to the spot, the familiar crushing weight of failure and loss settling over

me like a shroud.

My security team stood at attention, waiting for orders. Jack approached cautiously.

*Boss…”

“She’s lying.” I whispered, but even I could hear how hollow it sounded. “She has to be lying.”

Jack hesitated. “Sir… maybe it’s time to consider that Aria really is-

“No.” The word came out fierce, desperate. “They never found her body. Never found her. Until I see her with my own eyes, until I can bury her myself, she’s alive. She has to be alive.”

‘Boss…” Jack’s voice was gentle, careful. “It’s been three years. The clothing remnants, the blood evidence… maybe it’s time to let yourself

grieve properly.”

My hand shot out, grabbing the metal railing. The metal warped under my grip as the nerve pain in my arm exploded. But it was nothing compared to the agony in my chest.

“She’s coming back,” I whispered, watching Olivia disappear into the crowd. “She has to come back. I’m not ready to say goodbye.”

Chapter 129

ARIA

As William and I approached Olivia’s luxurious villa, she rushed down the steps and threw her arms around us both. Her perfume

enveloped me as she held us tight.

“Thank God you’re both safe, Olivia exclaimed, her voice trembling slightly. “Your warning about the airport-you might have saved our

lives.”

I patted her back. “It was all William. He hacked into the airport security system and spotted suspicious vehicles and personnel stationed there. We were worried about your safety, so we changed our original plan of having you pick us up and quietly left on our own.” I paused,

frowning. “I didn’t expect Blake’s people to be involved. His security team has a distinct formation pattern.”

Olivia’s eyes widened. “Blake? But why would he-

“Control. Obsession. Morbid curiosity about his supposedly dead ex-wife,” I answered, the bitterness in my voice impossible to hide.

“Nothing new.”

I didn’t flatter myself thinking that after three years, Blake still harbored feelings for me. In my view, his obsessive digging was nothing more than a man’s curiosity and his strange sense of ownership. Once Blake Morgan considered something his, he never truly let go-even

if that “something’ was supposedly dead.

William stood silently beside me, his face expressionless but his eyes alert, scanning our surroundings with the vigilance I’d taught him.

Olivia cupped William’s face and kissed his forehead. “My brilliant godson. You’re just like your mother-always three steps ahead.”

Just as Olivia finished speaking, the massive oak door of the villa swung open. A small figure darted out with surprising speed.

“Mommy! Brother!” Aurora’s sweet voice rang out as she barreled toward us.

I dropped to my knees, catching my daughter in my arms. Her familiar weight and smell hit me with a wave of emotion I hadn’t expected.

“My baby girl,” I whispered, pressing kisses to her cheeks.

Ethan followed at a more dignified pace, with Ivy trailing behind him.

“Godmommy, William, Ethan greeted us formally, though his eyes sparkled with genuine happiness.

“Ms. Taylor, William!” Ivy beamed at us. “Welcome back!”

Aurora pulled back slightly, examining my face with a curious frown. “How did you know we were at the door, sweetie?” I asked.
