Chapter 126
‘All arranged, I confirm. ‘We land at 2 PM your time.”

Richard’s face grows serious. “Remember what we discussed, Aria. Blake cannot see William. The resemblance is too strong.”

I nod, feeling William’s curious gaze on me. My son has never met his father, and if I have my way, he never will. The ice-blue eyes, the
determined set of his jaw, even the way he furrows his brow when concentrating-all pure Blake. Anyone who knew Blake would
immediately recognize his son.
I’ll make sure they never cross paths, I promise, ushering William toward Jessica, who has reappeared at the door. Once he’s safely out of
earshot, I turn back to my parents. “I’ve made all the necessary arrangements.”
“And if you run into Blake?” Elaine asks, her voice tense with worry.
“New York is a big city,” I say with more confidence than I feel. ‘Besides, he’ll be busy with his engagement preparations.”
The words taste bitter in my mouth. Blake and Emma-the perfect power couple. The announcement is expected within months, according to the business gossip columns. The irony doesn’t escape me-Blake marrying the woman he’s always wanted, while I raise his children in
secret.
“That’s precisely why we’re concerned, Richard sighs. “With this engagement, Blake will be all over the media. We’re just worried you’ll
get hurt again.”
‘I wouldn’t be returning to New York so soon if it weren’t for their impending engagement,” I admit. “But I need to secure William and
Aurora’s future.”
Elaine’s eyes fill with tears. “Just promise me you’ll be careful. Those little ones need their mother.”
I glance across the room where William has settled himself at a small desk, his face a mask of concentration as he works on his tablet. My
heart constricts at the sight.
“I promise,” I whisper, praying silently alongside Elaine for my children’s safety and future.
Meanwhile, a suffocating atmosphere permeates the Morgan family’s Hampton estate.

Chapter 127
BLAKE

I stood in my private study at the Hampton estate, staring at the small teddy bear on the top shelf. Three years had passed since I placed
it there. Three years since Aria disappeared. She’d treasured this stuffed toy, yet I kept it here, waiting. Waiting for her to come back for
“You’ll come back for it, won’t you, Aria?” I whispered. “You always said you couldn’t sleep without this damn thing.”
I reached up, my fingers brushing against the soft fur. The bear sat high on the shelf, requiring me to stretch to reach it.
Now the bear sat waiting, collecting dust. But I couldn’t move it. What if she came back and it wasn’t there?
The memory triggered sharp pain through my left arm. I grabbed it as the nerve pain flared, veins bulging under my skin. The doctors
said it would fade. They lied. Still burned the same as the day it happened. The day I failed to protect her.
That little girl today had Aria’s eyes. Same smile. For a moment, my heart stopped. The way she tilted her head, that look… What if Aria
was out there somewhere? What if she was hurt, alone, trying to find her way back to me?
Everyone kept telling me to accept reality. But they found clothing remnants, not a body. Not her. Until I see her body with my own eyes,
until I can hold her lifeless hand in mine, I refuse to believe she’s gone.
My phone rang, cutting through the spiral of self-blame.
“Boss.” Jack’s voice came through the speaker.
“What’s up?”
“Olivia’s headed to JFK tomorrow morning. She’s meeting someone.”
I straightened, my pulse quickening. “Who’s she meeting?”
“That’s the weird part. Everything about this person is locked down tight. Totally classified. I tried hacking the passenger list, but the
name’s blocked. Can’t get through even with our clearance.
My heart hammered against my ribs. Could it be…? “Get security on it. I want that airport locked down. Not even a damn mosquito gets in
or out without me knowing. Cover every exit, record every face.”
“Got it.”
“And Jack? Keep this quiet. Don’t breathe a word to anyone.”
