Chapter 13

When Alice heard the words “family,” she couldn’t help but feel it was absurd. She thought the same way in her past life. But just before she was about to claim the championship, she got replaced by Chloe. What kind of family was that?
Alice decisively replied, “I’m not planning to join the team; I want to focus on my studies and prepare for exams.”
Luke shot back sarcastically, “Oh, but you were begging me to teach you how to play games, chasing me at night for training, and saying you wanted to be a full member. Why didn’t you mention studying then?”
A familiar ache tugged at Alice’s heart. The reason she chased after her sixth brother to play games was to build a better relationship and have more common topics to discuss! But now, that seemed unnecessary.
Alice replied, “It’s just that playing games has been affecting my studies; my scores dropped a lot in the last monthly exam, so I don’t want to continue gaming.”
Luke was speechless.“Fine. Don’t regret it. When the competition starts, outsiders will only see Chloe and think she’s the real member of the Welch family.”
If Alice was so ungrateful, then so be it; he didn’t care.
“That’s fine,” Alice didn’t want to waste more words and turned to leave the dining hall.
Back in her room, she adjusted her emotions and started focusing on her homework, refreshing her memory on the knowledge she had forgotten.
The next day after school, Alice and Chloe arrived at the school gates. The driver waited outside.
Chloe stood in front of the car and said, “I’m heading to the training camp. The driver needs to take me there first; we won’t be going the same way.”
The driver, with a stern face, stated, “Miss, I received a call from Mr. Welch. I need to take Miss Black there first. I can’t waste time.”
Alice didn’t care.“I’ll take a taxi.”
Chloe got into the car, a hint of excitement in her eyes.“Alice, I’ll talk to Luke later.”
Alice turned and walked away.
Chloe watched her go, biting her lip.
“Alice, just wait. One day I’ll take everything from you! This is what you owe me!” Alice stood by the roadside, feeling a bit disinterested in returning to the Welch family. Maybe she should look for a study room nearby.
“Hey kid, why are you just hanging around after school instead of going home?”
Alice turned and saw a handsome man, momentarily stunned until she recognized him. It was the sharp–tongued school doctor. He usually wore a mask and a white coat, but now he was dressed differently, almost unrecognizable.
Jack stood in front of her. “I’m talking to you.”
“I don’t want to go home right now. I want to find a study room to do my homework.”
“Come with me.”

Alice hesitated for a moment but decided to follow him.

She ended up at the school’s infirmary, standing at the door:“Why are we here? I’m already better.”
Jack gestured to the desk.“It’s quieter and safer than a study hall.”
After thinking it over, Alice realized he had a point. She set her backpack down:“Thanks.” She took out her books and began studying. Jack glanced at her, his gaze cold, then turned and went to the consultation room, shutting the door behind him. When Alice came back to her senses, she noticed it was getting late.

The readers' comments on the novel: Six Brothers Plea for Forgiveness (Alice)
This story is incomplete!!! You get us into the story then you leave us with a cliff hanger. Plus there's so many errors. It is obvious that English is second ( or 3rd) language. Author has mixed up names on several characters. Mixed up he/she , him/her. Made story too long by repetitive sentences. Made it look like the reader wasnt able to retain parts of the story by repeating certain aspects. I know authors do that but this author did it too often. This story lets you see what an eye for an eye would mean to some cultures. Needs MAJOR proof reading. Pro: great family drama. The one emotion you feel the most in this story is anger & discuss. There are a few funny (actually hilarious) parts in there. You want the good guy to win even though he may been at fault for something. You want justice for Alice and you want to see her independent from her brothers totally. I feel the author is on the right track but just needs to clean it up....
Except Alice's and Jack's names, all other names are mixed. And why there is LUKE'S FATHER instead of EATHEN...
I want yo ask that wht Alice's surname is keep on changing from Wolsh to Windham to Lu???? And Andrew to Garett? And Jane's name to Chloe as well...
