She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 656

Rowan looked down at the sleeping baby in his arms, completely oblivious to the storm outside, and then at a visibly distressed Lyra. He softened his tone, comforting her gently. "I'm here. No one will ever be allowed to smear you or our son."

Pale and trembling, Lyra picked nervously at her fingers.

A call came in, likely from his family elders. Rowan snapped irritably into the receiver, "Pip and I don't need a paternity test."

Panicked by the viral rumors, his parents wanted to order a paternity test to clear the air, but the suggestion only triggered his absolute fury.

"I need to go out for a bit."

Rowan hung up the phone, his face an icy mask, and turned to Lyra to excuse himself.

Lyra nodded slightly, her heart heavy with anxiety, but she didn't ask any questions.

Not long after, the roar of an engine echoed from the courtyard, the tires crunching over the pavement as the car sped away. This was the first time Rowan had stepped foot outside the estate since she was discharged and brought Pip back to Blackwood Manor.

Rowan drove straight to Jameson Tech.

Joel Hunter was already waiting. He spread out a thick stack of dense tracking logs on the desk, his expression grave. He bowed slightly and reported, "Boss, we have a problem. We spent a massive amount of resources tracking the account IP and posting ID. The culprit was extremely cunning, using multiple layers of proxies and overseas routing nodes to mask their location. But tracing the breadcrumbs all the way back... the original ID came from inside Blackwood Manor."

Rowan's head snapped up. "What did you just say?"

He stood frozen, the color draining from his face.

Rowan rubbed his temples, his voice flat and emotionless. "Dragging someone out to interrogate them now will only validate the rumors online. Outsiders will just assume the Jameson family is silencing witnesses to cover up the truth, which will only drag Lyra and Pip into another wave of PR attacks."

Was that really it?

Joel and Gabriel were skeptical. It was a complete departure from their boss's usual ruthless style; the Rowan they knew never overthought his revenge. But since his logic was sound, they didn't press the issue, assuming he was just being overly cautious because it involved his newborn son.

Rowan got back into his car.

He pulled out a cigarette. Just as he was about to light it, he cracked the window and tossed it out instead. He let out a heavy sigh and started the engine.
